What possible connection do other movies directed by the same man have here? That should be removed. The plot should be improved. It sounds more like an advertisement tyhen a plot summary. It should at least name the perpetrator. This is a very dull, boring and uninteresting movie. The standard response would be WP:SOFIXIT. I don't know what your first sentence is referring to, as far as I can see the article doesn't mention any other films directed by Apted. The plot could do with some shortening, but I don't see it reading like an advertisement, it summarizes the plot adequately. If you know who the perpetrator is feel free to add it. As for your personal opinions about the quality of the film, those have no relevance when writing an encyclopedia article on the topic. --Daniel 02:27, 30 July 2011 (UTC)

Filming dates and delays

I just edited the Filming section to remove a reference to production being delayed "several years" due to scheduling and casting matters. This made no sense to me since the article also said the rights were only purchased in 1981 and the film was released in 1983. Checking the referenced source (the AFI catalogue) it had more information and dates, and this is the source for my adding the date for filming commencing. GraemeC (talk) 15:16, 9 February 2023 (UTC)
