Kammersängerin

edit

Worth mentioning if a source can be found. Jmar67 (talk) 04:17, 28 May 2020 (UTC)Reply

There should be a page in the Bayreuth Festival archive, which is searchable. No time right now to check in the Kutsch. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 07:02, 28 May 2020 (UTC)Reply
I've added the link to page 2018 in the Kutsch and Riemens. LouisAlain (talk) 08:08, 28 May 2020 (UTC)Reply
Don't understand. There is already a ref entry for KR. (And it says nothing about Kammersängerin.) Btw: KR lists her voice type as Alt. Is that equivalent to (and normally translated as) mezzo-soprano in an opera context? Jmar67 (talk) 09:47, 28 May 2020 (UTC)Reply
The ref to Kutsch and Riemens just indicates there's an article about her in their lexicon. The ref I added directs to this very article and can be read online. LouisAlain (talk) 20:56, 28 May 2020 (UTC)Reply
There's KR but too long to read it all again. In a Bayreuth ref, one could at least search for a word, but if it's not in KR. it won't be there either, - they just copy, sometimes shortened. ALT - contralto - is fine for Wagner, but misleading for Verdi. Her KR entry is so long, they should have said "und Mezzosopran". We could. Still no time, sorry. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 10:00, 28 May 2020 (UTC)Reply

According to the 1976 Who's Who in Opera, which the artists filled out themselves, Grace Hoffman describes herself as "dramatic mezzo-soprano" and "Kammersängerin." Ephraem 19:47, 28 May 2020 (UTC)

German Who's Who? and the new Bild ref call her so, so I added it. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 21:05, 6 June 2020 (UTC)Reply
