Quote
editCould someone explain to me how that quote is in any way pertinent to Phipps' biography? Callmemirela 🍁 {Talk} ♑ 00:23, 9 October 2015 (UTC)
Picture
editCan someone please add this picture? It looks to me as though it can be used, in addition to what we have. And it is more recent and better I think.

- As the "portrait" pic? Wouldn't be a good choice, as it's not a headshot. --IJBall (contribs • talk) 03:07, 4 November 2015 (UTC)
- I think I understand. Can someone then put this new picture in the article as a second, additional, more recent pic that is not a "portrait pic" then?
- Or else, cut it down to the size of a portrait pic? I looked at the original of the pic that is now being used, by clicking through, and it looks like that is what they did. It had more in it, which they just cut out for what they used here. Thanks. --199.102.168.8 (talk) 22:36, 10 November 2015 (UTC)
- 199.102.168.8 – unfortunately I don't know much about images and copyright rules and such, and the use of Commons, so I can't be of any help on this. You might try asking at the WP:Help desk about this... --IJBall (contribs • talk) 20:38, 21 November 2015 (UTC)
- Thank you. 199.102.168.8 (talk) 22:53, 24 November 2015 (UTC)
- The copyright for that file is not appropriate for our use. See this for more information on which copyrights from flickr we can use. --Stabila711 (talk) 23:01, 24 November 2015 (UTC)
- Thanks for that fast answer. I'm confused. I went to flickr, and searched for commercial use allowed. It gave me all these photos. https://www.flickr.com/search/?ytcheck=1&text=grace%20phipps&license=4%2C5%2C6%2C9%2C10
- Is that not enough to make it an appropriate file? It's among those that say commercial use allowed. Eh -- but I see on what you linked to it says ND is no good. If not, is there another one that we could use that is better than the one we have, or as an additional one? Or are we stuck with what we have. Thank you. 199.102.168.8 (talk) 03:27, 25 November 2015 (UTC)
- If you can find an image on Flickr that is marked with one of the copyrights we can use go ahead and upload it. It has to be marked with the proper tags in order to be valid but if it has the correct copyright it should be fine. Otherwise, we have to use what we have. Copyright law is really strict and for our purposes here it has to have been released under the proper licensing agreement in order to use it. Photos have to be available for commercial use and to be modified. The ND copyright means we can't modify it. So while some of those photos in that gallery you linked to are the correct copyright for us to use you have to double check each one you want to make sure. The Commons guide in my last response has the full list of acceptable copyright licenses from Flickr. If you respond again please make sure to include {{ping|Stabila711}} in your message along with your signature so I can be notified. Thanks! --Stabila711 (talk) 04:36, 25 November 2015 (UTC)
- Thank you. I'm not sure I can find such a photograph. 199.102.168.8 (talk) 22:58, 1 December 2015 (UTC)
