Singer
editThe female singer in the movie may also have been influenced by Dusty Springfield. 67.10.133.121 18:45, 31 December 2006 (UTC)
- If that's a reference to Kelly Porter, I agree. Like Lesley Gore, Dusty Springfield is known for being lesbian, and sung several Goffin-King hits. (The dramatic orchestration heard in the movie bears some resemblance to songs such as "You don't own me".) Kelly Porter is depicted as rather bubblegum-based, though, and I believe in that time, Dusty was mostly seen and marketed as a classy soul singer. 惑乱 Wakuran (talk) 00:33, 26 March 2014 (UTC)
Fair use rationale for Image:Grace of My Heart cover.jpg
editImage:Grace of My Heart cover.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

- I concur. while i have absolutely no doubt as to the deliberate parallels listed in the article, we need sources on it, and if the director hasnt talked about it, then its speculation. if i cant find sources, i will trim article to what we can source. Overlong plot summary plus other issues
editIt's silly for a synopsis of a movie to include plot material that was deleted from the movie. If it's a deleted scene, then by definition, it's not part of the final film. I will be deleting the references in the synopsis section to deleted scenes. Also, Lesley Gore stated in an interview here that she felt badly treated by the filmmakers, and some reference ought to be given to this, as her input into the film seems to have been quite different from that implied in the article. I have no special axe to grind as I'm not a great fan of Lesley Gore and I quite like this movie, but this is not a good article as it stands. The synopsis is overly detailed and there is a lack of referencing. Lexo (talk) 23:42, 8 August 2011 (UTC)
The Riptides' actors
editThe actors who play musicians of the Riptides during the recording of the Pickle Song are portrayed by members of the alternative rock band Redd Kross (Jeffrey and Steve McDonald and Brian Reitzell). J Mascis from Dinosaur Jr provides the vocals of the song, but is seen as recording engineer. See http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0116442/fullcredits?ref_=tt_cl_sm#cast for reference.--Einar Moses Wohltun (talk) 08:54, 24 December 2014 (UTC)
