Changes to Grant Faulkner page due to defamatory content
editThis edit request by an editor with a conflict of interest has now been answered. |
- What I think should be changed: This should be deleted: "His departure was preceded by concerns regarding inconsistent moderation, the safety of minors and staff conflicts of interest[9] and was accompanied by a set of staffing changes overseen by his interim successor and former board of directors president, Kilby Blades.[10]"
- Why it should be changed: This sentence implies that I was responsible or connected with the accusations listed, when that isn't the case. In fact, my departure and succession plan had been worked out with the board months before any of these issues occurred.
Also, this entry implies that wrongdoing occurred, but "concerns" don't equal wrongdoing, and an investigation didn't turn up any wrongdoing—these were unfounded accusations made by trolls in online forums (who probably posted this as well).
I ask that you remove this misleading statement because it is defamatory and it is causing me material harm.
- References supporting the possible change (format using the "cite" button): Here is my farewell announcement. There is no other mention of me in communications from the nonprofit, NaNoWriMo, which is why the current sourcing shouldn't be used: https://grantfaulkner.substack.com/p/some-news-and-a-story
