Note on vote count: If things haven't changed, absentee votes have until 2 weeks after election day to come in, and don't get counted until that day. So the exact vote count (here and at other articles) will need to be updated. Meanwhile, Sablan is already attending orientation in DC. HkCaGu (talk) 21:01, 16 November 2008 (UTC)Reply

Psrty Affiliation

edit

Sablan is listed in the official list of Congressmen as a Democrat (http://clerk.house.gov/member_info/olmbr.html). Any objection to me changing his party affiliation? meamemg (talk) 20:03, 7 June 2009 (UTC)Reply

  • He caucuses with the Democrats, but as far as I know he is officially an independent. That is how he was listed on the ballot for election [1]. I have no objections, but think we need more than just the clerk's website to verify any formal party change before making any edits to the article. All committee articles and the 111th Congress articles would need to be edited to match.DCmacnut<> 20:49, 7 June 2009 (UTC)Reply

Party change

edit

Hello all,

It appears that Del. Sablan's party has changed; here are four refs to support this:

His profile in the bioguide says:

elected as an Independent to the One Hundred Eleventh Congress (January 3, 2009-present); changed from an Independent to a Democrat on February 23, 2009.

(see it here: [2])

The Clerk of the House has a document that lists members with similar names and has a changelog of changes to the roster. On page six it states:

2/25/09 - Deleted Rep. Hilda Solis due to her resignation on February 24, 2009, removed Rep. Polis from the duplicate/similar names section, and changed Rep. Sablan’s party to Democrat.

(see it here: [3])

Congress.org lists his party as Democrat in their profile of him: [4]

The full roster of members kept by the Clerk is here: [5]. It lists Del. Sablan as a Dem.

I hope this helps. - Thanks, Hoshie 16:01, 15 December 2009 (UTC)Reply
