This edit request by an editor with a conflict of interest has now been answered.
Hello, I’d like to request the following edits but I have a conflict of interest that prevents me from making edits myself.
Can you change the name and styling to “Grid”? We don’t go by GRID in all caps.
Done - Pretty straightforward and all sources confirm that.
In the opening paragraph, can you correct the following? “Mark Bauman as its President and Chief Executive Officer” to reflect that he is now a Senior Advisor?
Done but with an extra line to explain the change.
In the first paragraph, can you fix the podcast host title? How about "It produces a podcast called "Bad Takes' ' hosted by Grid editor-at-large Matthew Yglesias and McGann. Bad Takes is a conversational podcast that aims to challenge political pieties that take hold online.”
Partially implemented Some of that text is lifted straight from Variety, and it's a bit too POV, so I edited.
In the third paragraph section, can you change the language? Our initial funding did not come from the royal family of the UAE – it came from International Media Investments which has numerous private investors, none of whom we are privy to individually. How about “Initial funding of $10 million for GRID was provided by International Media Investments and technology executive Brian Edelman.”
Partially implemented A little tricky, but I think my edit works. Removed the POV stuff and there was no reference to royal family in any of the sources anyway. Kept the overall Abu Dahbi connection, but it does need better sources than a press release so I may edit some more later
In the fourth paragraph, can you correct the following regarding APCO: We did not use APCO Worldwide for services around our launch. They were on a very small retainer before Sarah joined in September 2021 and we chose not to continue the relationship. Can you change to "Grid used APCO Worldwide briefly before launch for "consulting services". APCO participated in a pitch for the full-time PR work, but lost the bid to DKC News. APCO has no ongoing relationship with Grid.”
In the fourth paragraph, can you add some other board members? Something like "APCO Worldwide Senior Advisor John Defterios, a 25 year CNN veteran, also sits on GRID's board alongside David Ensor, Alberto Fernandez, Chris Isham, and Madulika Sikka."
Done. Didn't need the sources; that was an obvious change.
Can you change the name of the section called “Connection to Biden White House" to "Notable People Associated with Grid”?
Partially implemented with a small name change
Can you add a few things too?
Some more about the team, like “The Grid launch team included Kay Steiger, a former Vox Washington editor; Justin Rood, formerly the director of the Project on Government Oversight’s Congressional Oversight Initiative, and Tom Nagorski, a former ABC News managing editor. The Vox co-founder Matt Yglesias is an editor at large and hosts a Grid podcast, 'Bad Takes'. Their leadership grew to include Leah Askarinam, a former politics reporter at the New York Times, and Lauren Morello, a former POLITICO editor.”
Partially implemented as I only found sources for some of those reporters.
Some more about our format, like “Grid's specialty format, called a 360, breaks down complex stories by approaching them from certain lenses, such as race, climate change and misinformation.”
Partially implemented since that's very POV. I toned it down and made it more neutral
“Stories are often written collaboratively by members of the newsroom, in a style that aims to put headlines into context by showing how they intersect with global affairs, health care and the economy — such as how the war in Ukraine is impacting gas prices in the U.S., and the role climate change has played in inflation.”
Done, even though I don't love the source. If you have a third-party source, let me know.
"In addition to Grid.news, Grid’s reporting and storytelling are also featured in its daily newsletter that debuted alongside Grid's launch. In September 2022, the publication also launched a weekly healthcare newsletter called Grid Health. Grid Health explores major health topics, including the fallout from the Dobbs decision, workforce issues, and burnout in the healthcare industry, the outlook for COVID-19 this fall, and inequality in health overall amid the growing impacts of climate change.”
Partially implemented with some tweaks to make NPOV
After the line "Grid News, also known as "Grid," is a digital media company based in Washington, D.C,” can you add “that takes a multi-disciplinary approach to hard news analysis and investigative reporting.”
“Grid's investigation into the 2022 Canadian trucker protests, led the U.S. Oversight Committee to prompt Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg to intervene in the crisis.”
I'll dig through these. Definitely some obvious fixes here (especially since the current page seems very agenda-focused and incredibly POV), but some stuff that will require a rewrite too. I'll do it line-by-line. Quick question: Was Bauman formerly CEO and now an advisor? -- FeldBum (talk) 20:29, 22 March 2023 (UTC)Reply

This edit request by an editor with a conflict of interest has now been answered.
Hello. I’d like to request the following addition to this page but I have a conflict of interest that prevents me from doing so.
Grid was recently acquired by The Messenger. Can we please add, "In March 2023, Grid was acquired by The Messenger, a media start up helmed by Jimmy Finkelstein. All of Grid’s reporting moved over to the new site and The Messenger continued publishing Grid’s daily newsletter.”
