Hokkien name
editAdded in the pre-colonial name for Guagua, as the importance of pre-colonial awareness in these kinds of thread is essential. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 70.134.72.125 (talk) 07:07, 12 April 2011 (UTC)
- @70.134.72.125 I know it's been more than a decade already, but I would love to hear the source where you got that Hokkien name from for Guagua, cuz it could not be found in any source listing Ph. Hokkien placenames nor Mandarin placenames nor even the chinese names of Filchi schools. The Hokkien pronunciation of 偎岸 (oe-hōaⁿ /ue˧ huã˥˩/) isn't phonologically sound too to the historical name of Wawa /ˈwäː.wəʔ/. Mlgc1998 (talk) 16:14, 5 April 2024 (UTC)

Requested move 8 September 2020
edit- The following is a closed discussion of a requested move. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made in a new section on the talk page. The result of the move request was: moved -- JHunterJ (talk) 11:32, 15 September 2020 (UTC)
– Now updated WP:MOSPHIL - no need for provincial disambiguator since these are uniquely-named municipalities or towns (WP:CONCISE and WP:PRECISE). Also in accordance with the following page moves before like:
Guagua, with 1,645 readers as of 1:30 AM of 09/09/2020 (Manila time), holds the WP:PRIMARYTOPIC (if based on readership) as opposed to:
- Guagua longganisa - 73 readers
- Catá (listed on disambiguation page) - 99 readers
- Jorge Guagua (listed on disambiguation page) - 164 readers
- Piaroa language (listed on disambiguation page) - 127 readers = for a total of 390 readers.
Dollar van (833 readers) is not included here because no "guagua" has been found on its text despite it being listed in the disambiguation page. If it were included, the viewership of pages other than Guagua of Pampanga will be 1,223, still not beating the article of the Philippine town. - Support. I agree that the municipality is the primary topic by usage. Shhhnotsoloud (talk) 12:58, 14 September 2020 (UTC)
