What is a political charge?

edit

This article starts out by saying Gwalior Residency was a political charge in British India. What is a political charge? Is it a political district, or an office, or what? Following the category to other British India residencies does not shed any light on this article. Maybe someone with more knowledge about India can help. --DThomsen8 (talk) 02:18, 26 June 2009 (UTC)Reply

Revision of the History Paragraph

edit
The history is manifestly incorrect, as it is written entirely from the British point of view. The uprising of 1857 was neither a mutiny nor a rebellion. It needs to be reworded factually.Moitraanak (talk) 11:44, 25 August 2024 (UTC)Reply
