I'll take this one. Parsecboy (talk) 14:04, 14 July 2020 (UTC)Reply

  • The line about being renamed seems out of place; I'd move that to the Construction and career section, directly after her launching.
  • Link the types of tons in the body and the infobox
  • Ditto for shaft hp
  • In the box, the boilers and horsepower should be in the |Ship power= field, not the propulsion field
  • Link deep load, funnel (ship)
  • Do we know when she was completed?
  • Link ship commissioning
  • "At the start of World War I," - when? Don't assume all readers will know when this was
  • Clarify that G194 was a torpedo boat (and link the term)
  • Ditto for Mainz being a light cruiser (and link the term)
  • "Fortunately" - we should generally avoid deciding whether one side accomplished its aims was good or bad
  • Do we know how long repairs lasted?
  • Link convoy, mobilization, reserve fleet, ship breaking, and scrap
  • Have to checked Corbett's official history? He puts Laurel as back with Harwich Force at Dogger Bank, for instance. There may be other material of use as well. Parsecboy (talk) 14:42, 14 July 2020 (UTC)Reply
Thank you. That is really helpful. I have found some really useful things is Corbett about Jutland too, which I followed up. The other amendments have also been made. simongraham (talk) 22:22, 15 July 2020 (UTC)Reply
Another period reference you might find useful (I haven't checked it to see if he mentions Laurel specifically, but it might give you a bit more context on what HF was up to) is Jellicoe's official history of the Grand Fleet - it covers operations through 1916 to when he was promoted out of command of the fleet. Thank you. That could be very helpful for other articles too. simongraham (talk) 00:06, 16 July 2020 (UTC)Reply
Yes, it's been essential for articles I've written on British ships that were part of the Grand Fleet. Parsecboy (talk) 00:12, 16 July 2020 (UTC)Reply
Thank you. The article is now updated. simongraham (talk) 07:48, 17 July 2020 (UTC)Reply
Sorry, I've been on vacation and lost track of this - happy to promote now. Parsecboy (talk) 10:26, 24 July 2020 (UTC)Reply
