Captain of Viking Sigyn arrested. – Sca (talk) 21:20, 30 May 2019 (UTC)Reply

Have added. Feel free to expand/ improve and to properly format that Washington Post source. Martinevans123 (talk) 21:47, 30 May 2019 (UTC)Reply
Just a note, it might be helpful to pick articles from the Yonhap feed, as they'd have more information sooner than most English-language outlets. SounderBruce 22:08, 30 May 2019 (UTC)Reply
Yes as it's Korean, sounds useful. What's GoogleTranslate like with Korean? Martinevans123 (talk) 22:13, 30 May 2019 (UTC)Reply
I linked to Yonhap's English coverage, which should still be faster than U.S. sources. Google Translate isn't particularly good at Korean translation, so I would avoid it. 22:19, 30 May 2019 (UTC)

Viking SIGYN , not Sygin. https://www.vikingrivercruises.co.uk/ships/longships/viking-sigyn.html — Preceding unsigned comment added by 188.146.173.0 (talk) 08:23, 31 May 2019 (UTC)Reply

I’ve added a sentence about the origin of the name that links to the articles on Sigyn, her husband Loki, and Norse mythology. That may help to clarify the spelling. Roches (talk) 16:29, 1 June 2019 (UTC)Reply

Rescue and salvage.

How do u want english sources , if foreign media is late by 1-3 days and looks really unreliable/confused to me? Either you have to wait days/weeks to an english article which is correct, or u have to rely on me/fellow hungarians and our hungarian links, or the hungarian wiki page. I bet a lot of Koreans following this wiki page rather than bbc for example. For the, time is what matters. Also u even questioned the official hungarian police page.. Also-also when somebody tells me that he's counting is at 8-9 then 10 ,and there is no number in the fourth separate death statement , but 7 was already recovered ..well 7+4=? Just believe in my "good faith" , and correct my grammar mistakes. If any. Ty. HunEndorfin (talk) 20:06, 4 June 2019 (UTC)Reply

For better or for worse en.wiki prefers English language sources. An added complication, for those editors (and readers) like me, who cannot read Hungarian, is that GoogleTranslate does not appear to be very good with Hungarian. I realise that all of your edits have been in total good faith, and I thank you for your diligence. But the death toll in any tragic accident is a sensitive subject and souring has to be particularly careful when an article is still appearing as a link on the In the news on the Main page. Thanks. This is why i havent reported another body, which they found at the city of Ráckeve. They are trying to identify it. Plus according to not official police sources they saw 3 other bodies at the windows of the ship. I'l wait for the police.hu or press releases. Also - sadly-there is literally 0% chance that anybody survived apart from the rescued 7 ppl. HunEndorfin (talk) 20:19, 4 June 2019 (UTC)Reply

You are probably following the story very closely and find it much easier to tell what the total death toll is from the differences in the circumstances reported. But strictly speaking, unless a source actually says e.g. "an eleventh victim", to use that source to support the claim there is an eleventh victim is WP:OR, and that's even well before any formal process of identification has taken place and has been reported. Police released the sonar-google earth mixed picture about the wreck and its surroundings. If u want to add it to the wikipage(i'm newbie in formatting ) : https://index.hu/belfold/2019/06/03/hableany_katasztrofa_duna_szonar_elhelyezkedes_tek_margit_hid_mentes_sodras_vizmelyseg/ — Preceding unsigned comment added by HunEndorfin (talkcontribs) 18:10, 5 June 2019 (UTC)Reply

Note that we are WP:NOTNEWS and thus can wait for English sources to catch up before adding them in. Verifiability by the majority of readers and editors is more important than being first. SounderBruce 03:01, 6 June 2019 (UTC)Reply
