editI have deleted the following section for the following reason: lack of verifiable proof. To be honest, the last sentence in the passage strikes me as someone's idea of a joke.
The first halaqa chapter in the United States was started by Hasan Abdullah, Omar Awan, and Sadaf Hossain. It was located in the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill at the forest of Finley. This UNC halaqa has been very successful and has won numerous awards in its rich history. The lost youth of the university has credited their revitalization in faith and brotherhood due to this organization. Successful alumni include: Waqas Hasnain (Speaker of the House), Taufiq Salahuddin (the Great Warrior), and Relwan Obama (the first full black president of the United States).
