Where is the story of Halcyon? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 66.53.140.217 (talk) 01:23, 14 January 2009 (UTC)Reply

A section could be added on the use of the word "halcyon"

edit

Many articles in Wikipedia include a section on "Legacy" or "In Popular Culture" - a sort of addendum that connects the subject with common contemporary knowledge or usage. The word halcyon is used, as such, and the term "halcyon days" is maybe even more common - both with no capital H, just a common adjective or noun. I'm a little surprised that this article doesn't, as yet, explain the derivation of the word or the term as used in English. Having started or contributed to many, Wikipedia articles, I'd add this aspect myself if I knew it or had reference books at hand that I could cite in explanation.
