editHarbour Island is very nice exspecially their sandy (pink) beaches but, they need a little help in the service department its deplarable I tell ya! yes ya! i said it.that concludes my message
Hi SurfsUp, Thanks for tip about the links guidelines. Sorry about adding the links without knowing what I'm doing. I've done very little editing so this is all quite new to me. I may edit the page some more to add some stuff so it's good to know that someone else is looking over what I post.
I also added the book links and arranged them so the books written by Brilanders are at the top. I tried to follow what was already there. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Larry Deack (talk • contribs) 05:23, 24 November 2008 (UTC)
Photos
editHello Larry. I liked your collection of photos of Harbour Island but it has the look and feel of "photo gallery". Wiki's image use policy [1] says, in part "In general, galleries are discouraged in main article namespace; historically, such galleries are more often deleted than kept." My personal opinion would be to pick your best shot of your batch and delete the rest. Again, just a personal opinion based on my read of Wiki's image policies. SurfsUp (talk) 06:11, 24 November 2008 (UTC)
Oh my! I'm making a lot of mistakes, even in how I uploaded the images. I looked at the image policy page and it says "Consider instead linking to a gallery on Wikimedia Commons – see this page for more details." But the page it linked to did not give an example of this. I sure have a lot to learn. One representative picture is going to be difficult to select. Thank you for being so kind helping me learn all this. Larry Deack (talk) 22:44, 24 November 2008 (UTC)
- My pleasure, Larry. Obviously there are more representative photos then there is text, and I wouldn't suggest adding more text for the sake of supporting more images, so I continue to recommend removing all but one of your photos. If you're looking to share your travel photos with others, my suggestion would be something like Google's Picassa. SurfsUp (talk) 08:38, 25 November 2008 (UTC)
Move?

The result of the proposal was do not move (but move Harbour Island (disambiguation) to Harbour Island) Anthony Appleyard (talk) 19:47, 8 March 2009 (UTC)
- Harbour Island (Bahamas) → Harbour Island — Already a redirect, so no dab necessary. — Chanheigeorge (talk) 10:46, 2 March 2009 (UTC)
- Name Harbour Island without a disambiguator is confusing. There are many islands in and near harbors. Anthony Appleyard (talk) 13:40, 2 March 2009 (UTC)
- Then perhaps the article "Harbour Island" should be the dab page, instead of a redirect to the Bahamas island. Currently most of the articles that go through "Harbour Island" do indeed refer to the Bahamas island. Chanheigeorge (talk) 13:56, 2 March 2009 (UTC)
- The number of incoming links does not establish a primary topic. So, yes, moving the dab page is the wiser choice. Vegaswikian (talk) 09:35, 3 March 2009 (UTC)

- Oppose. Clearly in this case there is no primary topic so the dab page should be moved to Harbour Island. Vegaswikian (talk) 09:33, 3 March 2009 (UTC)
- Oppose the target should be replaced with the dab page. 76.66.193.90 (talk) 06:04, 4 March 2009 (UTC)
- Oppose. And move the disambiguation page to Harbour Island. •••Life of Riley (T–Class=C) 21:17, 7 March 2009 (UTC)
