Exist 2 Inspire The Hardys are one of the universis greatest tag teams. They are no longer working together seeing as Jeff Hardy got sacked. He may be making a surprise return to the WWE in Summer or early Fall of 2006. This being because his contract is expiring on TNA (total nonstop action), so the WWE are thinking of bringing back one of the most popular ever wrestlers in the WWE. He may once again form a stable with his brother Matt and bring back the great team extreme. all the hardy boyz fans out there youll be seing them back in action before the end of the year.

lita (DDT) jeff (swanton bomb) matt (swist of fate, side effect)

edge and christian are bitches as are the dudly boys

facts jeff hardy most gamest person on tna at the moment facts matt hardy most electrifing person on smackdown facts lita most cheating woman on raw at the moment with her fucked up boyfriend edge but after its gonna be lita with jeff and trish status and matt so r u ready for the reunited team extream matt, jeff and lita

^^Total garbage, none of it is fact, not even decent speculation^^

Lita would not be in Team X-Treme. That would be asking for a problem.

Well as of now maybe Jeff will enter a feud with Edge and maybe get kicked off of Raw the way Matt did? Or maybe Edge will get kicked off and continue his feud with Hardy on Smackdown!

Exist 2 Inspire Edge and Lita will possibly be leaving to TNA in the future. And the Hardy Boyz Reunion has been talked about happening at Wrestlemania 23.

No Rumors. --Mikedk9109 (talk to me) (watch me) 22:20, 17 October 2006 (UTC)

The Hardy reunion has been finalised, they're competing together at Survivor Series, part of the team captained by Dx, along with ECW's Punk. Perhaps that should be entered into the article. 130.74.4.7 03:22, 9 November 2006 (UTC) Richard

stage name

Even, and especially, if you claim that Hardy is their real last name and not a stage name, then there is an unbelievable coincidence then that they chose to be called the Hardy Boyz and not the Hardy Brothers,, the Hardies or whatever. This does not distract from their image, don't take it personally. Please explain why Hardy Boyz has no relation to anything else and was a pure creative idea.--Shuki 20:53, 13 November 2006 (UTC)

I'm sorry if I sound rude, but do you even watch wrestling? Do you have any clue what you are talking about? Hardy is their legal last name. Matt Hardy and Jeff Hardy. So they are called the Hardy Boyz. Jeez, you would think if you wanted to edit a wrestling article, you would at least know what you are talking about. Again, sorry if you take this offensively, but its the truth. --  Mikedk9109  (talk)  21:54, 13 November 2006 (UTC)
While you continue to ignore my argument, the argument you use is childish and preposterous and you really don't care if I watch wresting, which leagues or since when either. Whether Hardy is their real last name or not is not the issue. The facts are that
a) whether you like it or not, Hardy Boyz is a stage name, not unlike the Hart Foundation, and the Beverly Brothers,
b) the Hardy Boys existed way before the Hardy Boyz adopted this variation.
Soon your going to tell me that the name 'Hulk' in Hulk Hogan, has nothing to do with the previous usage regarding the green giant? Nobody has claimed a copyright violation, and I have absolutely no clue, and frankly wikipedia does not care, why you think that you have master editing rights on this article. --Shuki 21:12, 15 November 2006 (UTC)
First, The Hart Foundation were called that because the real names of the characters are Bret HART and Jim NeidHART. "Hardy" is their legal last name. Please do some research first, since they are sometimes called the Hardy's. Maybe they chose Hardy Boyz instead of Hardy Brothers because of the books, you would have to ask Matt or Jeff that. Their real legal names are Matt Hardy and Jeff Hardy though. TJ Spyke 21:48, 15 November 2006 (UTC)
If you would only listen to yourselves, you'd hear that their real name isn't 'Hardy Boyz' at all, and that they've chosen this stage name over "Matt Hardy and Jeff Hardy". TJ, you "maybe they chose..." is the whole point, you and Mike have no other clue. Whatever. Why you both think it detracts from their image is beyond me. --Shuki 20:57, 16 November 2006 (UTC)
Do you even know how to read? Nowhere in there did he say their legal name is "The Hardy Boyz." They chose the name Hardy Boyz because their last name is Hardy. Seriously, you make no sense at all here. Hardy is their legal last name; so what if they chose Hardy Boyz instead of Hardy Brothers? They're allowed to do that! It's their perogative! As for the Hulk and Hulk Hogan...that was a tangent that made no sense at all. Seriously, do some research of your own before you go bagging on a subject, especially when you're talking about one of the greatest and most talented tag teams of all team (and that's not just my POV, check out the number of times they've won the titles). Hardy Boyz Reunion

  • At Survivor Series, the Hardy Boyz (Matt and Jeff) will be reunited in a 5-on-5 Traditional Survivor Series Elimination Match as part of Team DX. This will put them on the same team for the first time in 5 years! Kickurass00 21:37, 16 November 2006 (UTC)
  • Unfortunately, it's policy here not to put in things like "The Hardyz will reunite as a team for the first time in 5 years at Survivor Series." I say unfortunately because I think it should be done, if done right, but that's policy. And, besides, right now with each brother on a different show, it does seem rather unlikely; despite the fact they're teaming up again at SS. So, for now, we'll leave it in. Anakinjmt 19:27, 19 November 2006 (UTC)

Well, they did just reunite on ECW, beating FBI. That should be added, right? BoBoCTiberius 03:27, 22 November 2006 (UTC)

Yes, since it is their first match in 5 years. --  Mikedk9109  (talk)  17:33, 22 November 2006 (UTC)

Without going into too much detail, as this is a Hardy Boyz article and not Matt and/or Jeff's individual articles, I think a brief mention should be made of their split, Matt's run on SmackDown!, firing, subsequent rehiring on Raw and re-draft to SmackDown as well as Jeff's release and re-hire. Once again, as this is a team article and not their single articles only a massing mention would be needed as it just kinda trails off discussing their history and reunion.

Adding Lita's championship wins?

I noticed we have several moves of Lita, or involve Lita, under signature moves, so I'm wondering if we should add the Women's Championship reigns she had while part of Team Xtreme? Of course, I may have forgotten if she didn't have any while part of Team Xtreme, but I think I recall she did. Anakinjmt 19:24, 22 November 2006 (UTC)

I don't even think she should be mentioned under the finishing and signature moves section. This article is about The Hardy Boyz, not Lita. Lita was just their valet, and not part of The Hardy Boyz. Now Team Xtreme is a different story. She was part of Team Xtreme, and Team Xtreme is incorporated into this article, and thats why she is under the finishing and signature moves section. So, yeah I think her title reigns (if she had any) should be in here. But only the ones she had during Team Xtreme. --  Mikedk9109  (talk)  19:31, 22 November 2006 (UTC)
Right, like her championship reign now wouldn't be listed, but any she had while part of Team Xtreme I think should. I don't know of any offhand, but it's been sometime. I'll add "(as part of Team Xtreme)" to the finishing and signature moves section to any that would be appropriate, if they're not there already. Anakinjmt 19:34, 22 November 2006 (UTC)
Her first reign was during the time she was in Team Xtreme. So you can go ahead and add that too. --  Mikedk9109  (talk)  19:37, 22 November 2006 (UTC)

Team name

  • Do they still use Team Xtreme, Team Extreme and the Hardy Boyz? Because since they are reunited, I didn't hear any of those, only The Hardys. So I think the 3 others shouldn't be in bold characters. (That's my opionion, and I'd like to have the opinion of others)
And I'd like to know something else... did they ever use Team Extreme? I know they used Team Xtreme with Lita... but Team Extreme? Kickurass00 19:10, 3 December 2006 (UTC)
  • Their ring name as a tag team is "The Hardys", they have been called that in their matches and were advertised as such during RAW. They were also given a new titantron and tunnel video that says "The Hardys" on it.
  • Don't you guys think the whole page should be renamed "The Hardys" ? As an encyclopedia, shouldn't Wikipedia use the current terms and not the "best known" ones? Kickurass00 23:23, 16 December 2006 (UTC)

The page should remain as Hardy Boyz because this is the same arguement from the New Age Outlaws (VKM, James Gang) page. That is wh they are known as best. If you typed in New Age Outlaws and got James Gang OR Voodoo Kin Mafia you would think that they were a rap group. The page should say The Hardy Boyz.--AD Double J 06:52, 5 January 2007 (UTC)

The New Age Outlaws were moved to Voodoo Kin Mafia a while ago. -- The Hybrid 07:57, 5 January 2007 (UTC)

  • I am really pissed of people moving the page to Hardy Boyz !! It may be their best known name, but it's not their name anymore !!! Move it back to The Hardys for God's sake !! Kickurass00 18:38, 21 January 2007 (UTC)
  • I edited it back to The Hardys, but now we should settle this once and for all. As an encyclopaedia, Wikipedia should use current terms, not "best known" ones. And, for their best known name, anyone typing "Hardy Boyz" in the search bar would be redirected to "The Hardys". So even if they didn't know the name change, they would get the info. Kickurass00 18:44, 21 January 2007 (UTC)
    • WP:NAME states, "Generally, article naming should give priority to what the majority of English speakers would most easily recognize, with a reasonable minimum of ambiguity, while at the same time making linking to those articles easy and second nature." Most easily recognize = best known. If you think this is a bad idea, please explain why WP:NAME should not apply here. hateless 23:17, 21 January 2007 (UTC)
Now. Just editing it to a redirect doesn't move it. TJ Spyke moved the page to Hardy Boyz, then edited it so it couldn't be moved back to The Hardys. Now, if is to be moved, we have to go through requested moves, which takes almost a week to complete. Thanks, TJ for moving the page for your own personal beliefs. Another reason this place is corrupt. ----  Mikedk9109  (hit me up) SIGN 00:16, 22 January 2007 (UTC)

Brand?

Are The Hardy's interpromotional or what? They have recently Wrestled as a team on Raw, SmackDown! and ECW, this should be noted in the page. What I am saying is that they faced Rated-RKO for the tag titles, they faced London and Kendrick for the tag titles, and then they fought The FBI on ECW.--AD Double J 06:59, 5 January 2007 (UTC)

It isn't really notable to tell about their matches on those brands, but it may be notable to add a bit about them performing on all three brands. --  Mikedk9109  (hit me up)  21:36, 5 January 2007 (UTC)

Leave in the descriptions of the Hardys/MNM matches in the article, They are in there to highlight the fact that the feud had spanned all 3 brands, which is notable. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 65.43.186.133 (talk)

I am inclined to agree with the anon. The MNM feud was notable because of the aforementioned cross-brand competition, as well as Mercury getting his face caved in by that ladder. It also looks like the feud may continue after Mercury is back in wrestling shape, so at the moment it would be wise to leave the info. Cheers, -- The Hybrid 05:30, 7 January 2007 (UTC)

Requested Move

The following discussion is an archived debate of the proposal. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made in a new section on the talk page. No further edits should be made to this section.

The result of the debate was NO CONSENSUS to move page at this time. Our policy at Wikipedia:Naming conventions#Use common names of persons and things states that we should prefer the most common name over the official name. If the new name becomes more common than the old one, we'll move it then. -GTBacchus(talk) 22:16, 27 January 2007 (UTC)

Simple, sign (with 4 ~) under "For" if you think we SHOULD move "Hardy Boyz" to "The Hardys" and under "Against" if you think we shouldn't. It would also be appreciated if you explained your point.

For

  • Kickurass00 : I think that, as an encyclopedia, Wikipedia should use the current names, not the previous ones. And, as of WP:NAME, it says that "naming should give priority to what the majority of English speakers would most easily recognize". With a name like "The Hardys", it's hard not to know that the team is made of Matt and Jeff Hardy... the Hardys. So basically what I'm saying is that I don't think people won't recongnize the team because it's "The Hardys" instead of "The Hardy Boyz", especially since their familly name is in both. And if we can stay updated on their team name AND be able to recognize them, it's perfect !!

Against

  • This is an encyclopedia; it is policy to use the best known name, not the current one. But this is not a long term problem; either they will become better known under the name they are now using, or they will fizzle. In the latter case, their new name should be an appendix to their previous career. Septentrionalis PMAnderson 23:53, 24 January 2007 (UTC)
  • Well, I was flipping around the internet and figured I would check up on things. While I'm here, I vote Against per Wikipedia policy. It doesn't matter if both names make it easy to figure out who they are. The Hardy Boyz was the name they used during the Golden Age of tag team wrestling, and it is the name they are recognized by best. Cheers, -- The Hybrid 00:39, 27 January 2007 (UTC)

New Brood

Edge and Christian were in the New Brood with Gangrel, not Matt and Jeff Hardy. Also, E&C dressed up as Los Conquistadores, not the Hardy Boyz. If you read Adam Copeland's auto-biography, it's all in there. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 69.210.113.58 (talk) 04:55, 7 April 2007 (UTC).

Actually The Brood was Edge Christian and Gangrel. Then The New Brood was Jeff Matt and Gangrel whenn E & C turned on Gangrel.

Mixed Brand?

They both appear on the raw roster. So are they really mixed brand champs? —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 88.111.148.241 (talk) 14:57, 8 April 2007 (UTC).

They don't, and that's the point. Home > Superstars > SmackDown > Matt Hardy —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Bdve (talkcontribs) 17:20, 8 April 2007 (UTC).
I just thought that because matt is a holder of one of the world tag titles that he automatically became a member of the raw roster. If he isnt then the titles are undisputed. Maybe the wwe are just slow when it comes to updating things like that.—The preceding unsigned comment was added by 88.111.148.241 (talk) 22:06, 8 April 2007 (UTC).

jef has been on all brands so has Matt. And this is after they became Tag Champs again. Ithink they are all brand champions.

yes but which roster do they belong to? thats what im trying to say88.111.148.241 18:10, 10 April 2007 (UTC)

Both, Jeff is RAW, Matt is SD!, they are an inter-brand tag team holding the RAW brand's titles. Darrenhusted 19:11, 10 April 2007 (UTC)

The link to matt hardys page has been changed to raw, even though the background is still smackdown!. i think that they're in the process of moving him over. the titles are raw exlusive anyway. gregory helms had to move to smackdown when he won the cruiserweight title.88.111.148.241 19:16, 10 April 2007 (UTC)

http://www.wwe.com/superstars/raw/matthardy/profile/ it says raw on the link

http://www.wwe.com/superstars/smackdown/matthardy/ it also says smackdown, so that resolves nothing. Bmg916SpeakSign 19:56, 10 April 2007 (UTC)

Yeah it does. Why would they change it to raw in the first place? —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 88.111.148.241 (talk) 22:06, 8 April 2007 (UTC).

Maybe they're just getting prepared for anything when they finally decide what brand he'll be on since he's been on both recently. Bmg916SpeakSign 21:02, 10 April 2007 (UTC)

So has Jeff. I dont see them doing the same thing for him.—The preceding unsigned comment was added by 88.111.148.241 (talkcontribs).

No announcement has been made, this is just idle speculation. FOr the moment they are one from each brand. Until we know anything else it should stay as it is. Darrenhusted 21:13, 10 April 2007 (UTC)

They dont have to make an announcement. The rule is that if the title is exclusive to a certain brand then the wrestler has to move.—The preceding unsigned comment was added by 88.111.148.241 (talkcontribs).

There's no "rule" because it's not real. Just leave it alone until something concrete happens.«»bd(talk stalk) 22:06, 10 April 2007 (UTC)

Well, 88.111.148.241, explain why Cena and Batista were able to take their titles to other brands, by your logic they should have vacated the titles. The WWE make up this stuff as they go along, the article is accurate as it is, they are mixed brand holders. Darrenhusted 22:48, 10 April 2007 (UTC)

Cena was drafted and as a result Batista had to move to smackdown because raw had both the heavyweight titles. the same thing applies here. matt cant bring the titles to smackdown so that makes him a raw superstar. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 88.111.148.241 (talk) 22:06, 8 April 2007 (UTC).

No, Batista was not drafted as a result, they were both on one brand for a week, then it was revealed that Batista had been drafted to SD. WWE makes up the rules as they go along. Using them to cite examples, such as Helms, does not alter this article. Darrenhusted 11:43, 11 April 2007 (UTC)

i think that they had it planned from the begining. There'd be no point in having the two major titles on the same brand and they realised that long before they decided to draft cena. If matts still on smackdown theres no point in having titles that are exclusive to certain brands. In fact theres no point in having brands at all. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 88.111.148.241 (talk) 22:06, 8 April 2007 (UTC).

Wait, you're trying to tell me the WWE planned to move Cena to one brand then replace him with Batista, why you're just being wacky now. This discussion is ultimately pointless, WWE will eventually have an announcer explain away Matt's holding of a RAW title. All I am saying is don't change them from being listed as inter brand. And learn to sign while your at it. Darrenhusted 12:08, 11 April 2007 (UTC)

Yeah. they planned it. it makes sense. do u honestly think that the draft lottery was real? i signed -----> 88.111.148.241 12:11, 11 April 2007 (UTC)

OK man I for one am in FULL agrement with you on that and the Hardys are an interpromo tag team, However the tag titles thay hold can only be defended on RAW. Hay maybe it up to matt to choose there's another great possablity. but in the mean time the hardys will continue to be an interpromo team. Mike
