Is it just me or does this raga look alot like the Mixolydian scale? 71.56.149.114 (talk)
- Yes. From what is described in Mixolydian mode, they are similar.
- One should note though, that [[raga]s of Indian classical music are not simple up-and-down usage of the scale. It involves lot more, including graces around some notes, stresses on specific notes (or in some cases lack of stress), concordant notes that are given importance, phrases that give the uniqueness or domain for a scale, rasa (emotion) that is evoked, bhava (mood in listener), etc.
