Talk:Harry Flood Byrd Middle School

Lately a certain "Rubinator" has been vandalising this and other articles. I know who this guy is. Seriously. He is, for lack of a better word, somewhat naïve. I will give him a talking to and try to get him to cease his vandalism. --Proffesor B 22:25, 18 April 2007 (UTC)Reply

I would like to put something up for discussion. I feel has a signifigant relevence to the topic. I do not think that any page about Byrd Middle School should exclude a discussion or at least a mention of the school's namesake Harry Food Byrd and the massive resistance that he led. It is already offensive that no mention of this unpleasent bit of Virginia history merits no mention in the history classes within the school. Jappatat 03:08, 4 May 2007 (UTC)Reply

This is a reasonable view Jappstar. Obviously no one wants to know your or my view but reporting and referenced debate is welcome. Victuallers (talk) 16:08, 21 November 2008 (UTC)Reply

Wiki vs Student Page

edit

I would like to point out that while as a public school "HFBMS" is entitled to a stub article like many other such stubs, this is not a private web page created and maintained by students and/or faculty. For starters, the members of or "awesomeness" of sports teams is not notable content unless there are sources to state otherwise; referencing a newspaper article (not a school paper) about some significant sporting event is one usable example, while listing of all current team members for the sake of listing them is not. Also, decision to include or exclude content on the basis of some finding it unpleasant information is not an option. If Harry Food Byrd is historically noted for such traits and if there are reputable sources as to these traits causing resistance in the community to the naming (again, such as a public newspaper article on the topic) then this should be included.--Human.v2.0 (talk) 03:11, 7 January 2009 (UTC)Reply

Proposed Redirect

Due to only one source for this article, and per WP:N. This article should be redirected to Henrico County Public Schools. ► Wireless Keyboard ◄ 20:02, 14 January 2011 (UTC)Reply
