Approach to this article
editI am considering the overall format of this article for any editors who are interested in the development of this article. Any feedback at all is, of course, greatly appreciated as I am new to writing Wiki articles. Here is my working outline:
1. Brief overview of Haematopoiesis.
Main focus will be on the early portion, when Long-term HSCs self-renew or differentiate. Short-term HSCs, which in turn self-renew or differentiate. Multipotent Progenitors. I will also include markers specific for each type and how they are identified.
2. Historical development of the theory of a HSC niche.
Includes early work in this field and how this theory was created.
3. Niche locations through early development.
Cellular composition of these early HSC niches. Cytokines and cellular signaling responsible during this period.
4. Niche relocation through early adulthood.
Sinusoids and cellular composition of this niche. Oxygen tension, Calcium, and Shear force in the regulation of HSCs in this niche. Cellular intercommunication and signaling in the niche.
5. The HSC niche in dysregulated Haematopoiesis.
Current therapies to combat these conditions, including HSC transplant.
Question about expansion
editCdeclue7 is a student in my class and is interested in expanding this page. I see that it was nominated for speedy deletion, but the nomination was declined. Before supporting this choice, I would appreciate confirmation that it is an appropriate article. Input from User:Graeme Bartlett, User:Akamemori, User:Mabalu is appreciated. - I declined the speedy delete, as it is a different aspect or topic that could have an article written. It would expand on what would go into hematopoietic stem cell. Perhaps it has not significant expansion yet, but that is why it's a stub. However this is just a speedy reaction to a speedy delete nom, so an AFD could be possible, but first check on the existence or absence of publications on the topic. - For the references, adding Pubmed links (PMID) to these citation might be good for reader to easily refer back to these articles.
- Article information provided to be searched through common engines.
- There is a wikilink called "stem cell niche" maybe it would be great to add this to the "niche"?

- The abbreviation "HSC" and "RBC" appear prior to your explanation of their full name, maybe you can move the explanation and the wikilinks to where they first appeared.

- "Yolk sac and the hemangioblast theory" section also looks like a description of historical research to me, maybe making it as a subsection of the "Historical development of the theory" would be better?
- The prior section refers to the historical events leading up to the development of the theory of an HSC, while the section you mention lists the historical events leading to the idea of the hemangioblast. As they are different historical sections, I kept them separate.
