Railway Executive

- @Johnragla: If you follow the link to the London Gazette, you'll see that it says "Whitehall, March 5, 1915. The King was pleased, on Wednesday, the 13th January, to confer the honour of Knighthood upon ... Herbert Ashcombe Walker ... (To take effect as from the 1st January, 1915.)", i.e. the ceremony was held on 13 January and backdated to 1 January, although it was apparently not announced until 5 March and published on 9 March. --Redrose64 (talk) 09:54, 20 June 2015 (UTC)
