The West Papua National Liberation Army

West Papua National Liberation Army, founded in 1973 after the proclamation of the independence of West Papua July 1, 1971 by Set Rumkorem. Precisely March 26, 1973 TPN was established as a military wing of the OPM.

TPN was established under the interim constitution of the Republic of West Papua which has been proclaimed at that time. Chapter V of the Constitution of the Defence and Security is comprised of the Army, Navy and Air Force.

Forum chose Deputy Commander Lieutenant General. Gabriel M. Awom and Chief of General Staff Major General TPN. Terianus Satto and Chief of Staff of the Army John Yogi. They set up a national structure in the national forum.
