editI am the Marketing Coordinator for the center and will be editing this page. Is there anything you need me to do for it? I will be updating content in the next couple days.—Preceding unsigned comment added by Tlaveist (talk • contribs)
- As you have a clear conflict of interest, it is better than you do not edit the article directly. Tell us here what changes you think should be made, provide reliable sources for those proposed changes, we will take a look at them and, if the sources hold up, someone will make the changes for you. And don't forget to sign your messages on talk pages. – ukexpat (talk) 17:22, 11 May 2009 (UTC)
I need to add new research as well as add an education and training paragraph for the center. Our research and training consists of talking about a journal club that we hold here at the center as well as the certificate program that you can take here at hopkins through the center. I also wanted to add under publications two books that Dr. LaVeist has written. Please let me know if this will be OK? Thank you, Shannon —Preceding unsigned comment added by Tlaveist (talk • contribs) 17:36, 11 May 2009 (UTC)
- I cut back the Mission stuff as it was beginning to sound like a press release. Do you have any references from primary or other sources to back up any of the stuff in the article? We need non-trivial coverage in reliable sources. Thanks. – ukexpat (talk) 20:15, 11 May 2009 (UTC)
I believe the only sources that we have are from papers that have been published from memebers here at the center on research they have completed. The other information in the article relates to basic knowledge and backgroun on the center. Should I put more references behing the studies that have been completed?Tlaveist (talk) 13:38, 12 May 2009 (UTC)
- There are a number of statements etc in the text that require a reliable source for verification:
- It is one of the leading organizations striving to eradicate disparities in health and health care among racial and ethnic groups, socioeconomic groups, and geopolitical categories such as urban, rural, and suburban populations.
- The HCHDS has been designated as a national Comprehensive Center of Excellence in Health Disparities by the NCMHD of the National Institutes of Health
- The Mission statement
- References for the research projects
- Hope this helps. – ukexpat (talk) 14:49, 12 May 2009 (UTC)
OK. Would it be best to just put a background of the center up there and then a link to our actual website? And take out all of the research that we have in there? I cant back the mission statement up with a reliable source because the mission statement is what we have come up with in regard to what the center is doing.Tlaveist (talk) 18:16, 12 May 2009 (UTC)
- The website would be OK as a ref for the mission statement and the research projects, but you will need something more for the other two that I mentioned above. There must be some press coverage of the Center that could be used as a reference. – ukexpat (talk) 18:34, 12 May 2009 (UTC)
I changed the one sentence that was in question. As far as the center being a national comprehensive center of excellence-we were designated as one by the NCMHD. How would you like me to show that? Thanks!! Tlaveist (talk) —Preceding undated comment added 17:54, 22 May 2009 (UTC).
