Even if Peytoiidae and Hurdiidae are synonyms, we as Wikipedia editors should follow standard usage in the literature, i.e. Hurdiidae, rather than taking it on ourselves to implement ICZN rules (which would count as original research). Even the ICZN has the concept of prevailing usage, allowing widespread "incorrect" usage to be maintained in certain cases. Ornithopsis (talk) 05:39, 21 November 2024 (UTC)Reply
