The current wording used in this article seems to represent the combination of two individuals: Hydarnes (senior) who was involved with Darius(and other Persian aristocrats) in overthrowing the Magi usurper Gaumâta in 522 BC and Hydarnes' son, also called Hydarnes, who would later become the commander of the Immortals during Xerxes' invasion of Greece in 480 BC. Not only are the two individuals combined in the existing article, but the general wording of the article is very poor and lacks reliable or verifiable references.
Therefore, I am in the process of rewriting this article dealing with Hydarnes senior. I also plan to add a new article dealing with Hydarnes, son of Hydarnes. --Chewings72 (talk) 06:07, 8 February 2015 (UTC)Reply
