He is the founder, director and chief designer of Nizhny Novgorod Experimental Design Bureau of Machine Building OKBM - a well-known company for fast reactor BN's series BN-350, BN-600, BN-800 reactor and BN-1200 reactor. He was the chief designer of OK-150 reactor installed on Lenin (nuclear icebreaker) - the world's first nuclear-powered surface ship and the first nuclear-powered civilian vessel. Also, he is the founder of the physics Department at Nizhny Novgorod State Technical University which is one of the universities linked with Rosatom nuclear education program.
