Merge with Aum

edit

This article should not be Merged with Aum. Ek Onkar is distinct, although it does have a common basis in Aum, it means something different. 128.86.146.48 16:57, 15 November 2007 (UTC)Reply

Issues referring to current version of article

edit
  1. is different than "Onkar" unlike the way this article in current form is trying to portray, please refer AGGS.
  2. Furthermore, it would be wrong to say "Omkar" is a variant of or vice versa as Omkar refers to Trinity system in which Guru Nanak (the creator of the opening verse of Japji ) did not believe.
  3. has nothing to do with Sanskrit like the article is portraying currently. Guru Nanak had rejected Sanskrit and rather chosen Punjabi for his work. The second letter in is "urra" a Punjabi letter. ---- A. S. AulakhTalk 23:57, 13 January 2008 (UTC)Reply

Requested move

edit

Ika OmkaraIk Onkar — This page should be moved back to "Ik Onkar" as that is the overwhelmingly the most common transliteration of this Sikh tenet. Supposed inherent "-a"s are a nonfactor, every other Sikh article is titled correctly without them.--3swordz (talk) 13:39, 10 December 2009 (UTC)Reply

A quick google search confirms this also. I will make the move. Kingturtle (talk) 19:52, 18 December 2009 (UTC)Reply
