To do
editImprovising- dedicating a dramatic/. subject as a formal argument/debate. Such as; acting, as a child. e.g. being another character (includes drama)- that states as improvising. (in other words, improvising another person).
The suggestions below are very obscure, and meaningless to anyone who is not into performing arts.
What about a prisoner improvising a mobile phone charger using an "AA" battery and two paperclips? What about using a t-shirt over your hands to pull out a hot oven shelf? What about folding a piece of paper underneath a wobbly restaurant table? What about using a piece of legislation in a previously unconceived way to tackle offending behaviour problems which might otherwise have required new legislation? What about using newspaper to clean your windows? What about the entire scope of this concept, apart from what, in my eyes, is arty clap-trap? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.187.12.45 (talk) 20:57, 19 October 2014 (UTC)

To do item from an unknown user:
- Why is Improvisation really important for an actor in theatre?
- The actor is not driven by the script but by imagination and expressiveness in creating characters
- Improvisational skills are a resource for the actor
- Without skills in improvisation the actor is in danger of inflexibility and narrowness

The first paragraph either needs to cite its source or be changed becuz it sounds like original research. OK, I'll try and put something down.

It may be important to include information regarding freestyle rap and hip hop. Just an idea.. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.29.174.93 (talk) 21:32, 22 April 2009 (UTC)
20th Century Piano Improvisors
editKeith Jarrett offers some excellent examples of modern piano improvisation of jazz and neo-classical styles in his solo concerts at The Köln Concert(1975), La Scala Concert (1995) and more recently the Carnegie Hall Concert (2005).
Brad Mehldau is another pianist and improvisor with an extensive stylistic range. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 75.37.229.29 (talk) 03:44, 16 January 2007 (UTC).
Regarding the introduction
editWould it be going to far to round off the introduction by proposing that improvisation could be said to be the primal force at the heart of all creation and development in all human endeavours?
I know it sounds like postulation but that's improvisation for you! Though the practices and procedures can be codified the output always in habits a more subjective realm. Penrose Feast 23:32, 21 April 2007 (UTC)
Why is improvisation used "a lot in Europe"
External links
editThe external links seem to be mostly, if not entirely, promotional. Maybe get rid of the section entirely, since it's not clear what would be appropriate for it. —KCinDC (talk) 03:29, 18 October 2008 (UTC)
Comedy section
editThe Comedy section is really ugly and needs a complete rewrite, and all those promotional links need to go. Athox (talk) 19:56, 6 May 2010 (UTC)
Major Re-Jigging
editLots of effort here, a visceral insight into your minds indeed it is, but if I could ask Monty and friends to step aside for a minute....I referred first to the dictionary and then tried to think objectively here. To most of us in the world, improvisation does not necessarily refer to spontenaity in performing arts, rather it might mean anything from Shanty towns, ad-hoc water supplies, running school classes in the open air without a school house, asking the taxi driver to witness a wedding, to repairing cars with household DIY parts. The definition which occupied the introduction until my edit (pre 11:51, 25 August 2014) was one specific type of improvisation. The introduction is now a general one. Improvisation, on its own, is categorically *not* "a state of being" :) ---unless, that is, that the entire article and talk page was a trolling excercise prior to my edits, in which case ignore the above. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 31.55.34.210 (talk) 09:51, 7 September 2014 (UTC)
Repurposing vs. Improvisation
editWhat is the exact difference between Repurposing and Improvisation. It seems there is an overlap... Etan J. Tal(talk) 08:44, 10 October 2017 (UTC)
