Blacklisted Links Found on India as an emerging superpower
editCyberbot II has detected links on India as an emerging superpower which have been added to the blacklist, either globally or locally. I thought it was just a dumb 4chan meme
editYou know, like that fake Indian name that was used as an anti-Indian ethnophaulism or the MEMRI TV screencap some Serbian nationalist doctored to make fun of Albanians.--2A02:8070:181:4A80:39C5:D60D:6394:CD1A (talk) 10:38, 10 June 2022 (UTC)
Social Divide
editThe whole content reflects an upper caste bias as it is solely focused on affirmative action and not on the cause (i.e. caste system). It makes it appear as if the affirmative action is real reason behind India not being a superpower yet, while it completely ignores other effects of the caste system, like the economic disparity due to caste system, intermixing of the society is still hindered by the caste system in the form of lower percent of intercaste marriage (and not by the affirmative action). - @Deciple of buddha True, I saw that. Thanks for editing. Gaurav6523 (talk) 02:34, 17 November 2022 (UTC)
Please help update to reflect the current situation and to achieve a more encyclopedic tone
editThis article unfortunately reads more like publicity or a national pride puff piece, rather than an objective assessment of the situation past and present in a global context. Also many of its sources are getting old - largely from 2005 and 2015 - with predictions based on the data known then. Please assist in overhauling and polishing the article to bring it up to Wikipedia's preferred standards. The subject is fascinating and is developing rapidly but the article does not yet reflect a rounded analysis drawing from high-quality, recent and reliable sources. It needs a clear exposition of which individual criteria define a superpower and how the country stands on each one. This shouldn't base on original research but synthesize what is known in an objective manner. Thanks and regards, Guffydrawers (talk) 19:36, 8 February 2023 (UTC)
- We should probably write this article from the ground up, half of the references don't even work and most of the data is outdated Crainsaw (talk) 14:56, 12 March 2023 (UTC)
- True that, the article read like some outdated 10 year old article with no new data set included with few sentences highlighting the previous governments' achievement in the development of the country. 223.30.79.180 (talk) 07:45, 19 June 2023 (UTC)
The Maoist/Naxalite insurgency section needs to be updated
editThe insurgency has been mostly controlled and now exists in very few districts. It can be replaced by internal and foreign threats of secularity such as the CAA bill introduced by the BJP government as well as communal violence. Ff442 (talk) 13:21, 2 July 2023 (UTC)
Size of the economy section needs correction
editThe introductory "Size of the economy" section is full of wrong information where GDP PPP and GDP nominal is mixed to further the propaganda to eulogise the opposition party and put down the current government with fake websites as source attached.[1] — Preceding unsigned comment added by For community (talk • contribs) 06:54, 1 September 2023 (UTC) <ref>
Inconsistent data used.
edit"In 2011, under the Manmohan Singh government, India was recognized as the third largest economy according to World Bank data. This was a significant accomplishment and a result of Manmohan Singh's policies. In 1991, India was ranked 17th in terms of its economy size, but Manmohan Singh's policies helped spur rapid growth that continued despite the global financial crisis. However, the momentum slowed down due to several civil society movements, such as Anna Hazare's anti-corruption movement, that impacted the congress government between 2011 and 2012. In 2015, Modi government's demonitization struck a lethal blow to the Indian economy. Despite this, the country's large human and natural resources and educated middle class demographic helped it recover. In 2019, India was the 5th largest economy"
For measuring Manmohan Singh's performance, GDP has been adjusted for PPP to claim that India is third largest economy but when it comes to modi, nominal GDP data is used.

Orphaned references in India as a potential superpower
editI check pages listed in Category:Pages with incorrect ref formatting to try to fix reference errors. One of the things I do is look for content for orphaned references in wikilinked articles. I have found content for some of India as a potential superpower's orphans, the problem is that I found more than one version. I can't determine which (if any) is correct for this article, so I am asking for a sentient editor to look it over and copy the correct ref content into this article.

I apologize if any of the above are effectively identical; I am just a simple computer program, so I can't determine whether minor differences are significant or not. Feel free to remove this comment after fixing the refs. AnomieBOT⚡ 07:03, 22 September 2023 (UTC)
Grammar errors
editThere's quite a few here. I think this article was just written by an Indian guy who loves his country, in his spare time. 63.155.46.234 (talk) 07:05, 12 May 2024 (UTC)
