Pre-Partition links
editThis article focuses everything on its links to Iran following its creation in 1947. I thought I'd write a bit, discussing the regions historic geographic links. It probably needs a rewrite, but I hope it served as a good starter. Afghan Historian 23:19, 27 January 2007 (UTC)
Iran was created in 1935, not 1947.Vmrgrsergr 15:10, 22 May 2007 (UTC)
Note: The analysis is rather skim, and portrays Pakistan-Iran relations from a ethno-cultural viewpoint, which results in the positive bias. For one, since the Islamic revolution in Iran, relations with Pakistan soured due to Saudi Arabia's active role in building a "Sunni Wall" around Shia Iran by direct funding of Madrassas in Pakistan, an act viewed by the Islamic Republic as regional aggression on behalf of both countries.

Updated page to remove ethno-cultural bias. Re-organized content to make it more readable.
Sources and references still need to be updated.

Changed intro to bring linguistic ties into prominence. Will also be deleting comment on Iran's oil-funded intellligence being used to "support" Shiite groups in Pakistan as North American propoganda as there is no source listed. 99.237.58.114 (talk) 06:41, 6 June 2008 (UTC)
Bias
editThere are numerous biased views in the article unsupported by facts and reliable sources. I do not have time right now but will come back to clean up the article. Did some work at the bottom of it though. The article is trying to portray Iran as evil Shia and Pakistan as sunni angel. The truth is that there is no evil/angel stuff between the nations. For example there is no evidence of any Shia militancy in Pakistan neither any Shia terrorism in Pakistan, all forms of terrorism in Pakistan are exclusive domain of wahabi sect. Trying to pull Iran into this is just a speculative and not encyclopedic. Not even a single Pakistani has been killed in Iran or injured but dozens of Iranians have been killed in Pakistan just because they were Iranians. Iran has been very patient ofcourse on the whole issue but it does not mean, it did not happen.--Irooniqermez (talk) 03:35, 17 August 2010 (UTC)
Can you state the sources for Iranians being persecuted in Pakistan or Pakistan attacking iranian targets? Also there's no indication of Pakistan being portrayed as the "sunni angel?"-99.226.203.145 (talk) 23:21, 28 June 2012 (UTC)

This article is a mess and full of nationalistic claims without proper claims/sources
editThis article really needs an overhaul. It's full of unsupported claims, bad sources (alot of wich are used directly from britannica) and mostly alot of (Pakistani?) nationalism. LouisAragon (talk) 17:08, 29 April 2013 (UTC)
I've removed some dubious claims with vague or not reliable sources. More reliable sources on relationship would be good. LouisAragon (talk) 18:11, 29 April 2013 (UTC)
- Absolutely agree with you. This article is poorly written and full of bogus made-up history and presents only a wishful Pakistani POV. No Iranian account is provided. Will email Iranian editors and other experts on Iranian foreign relations and Iranian history to balance out this entry with actual facts and nullify the bogus information and POV currently infectious throughout the entire article. 92.4.161.52 (talk) 12:28, 29 June 2013 (UTC)
After reading this article again, I agree it's indeed a wishful Pakistani's POV written piece. Full of anachronisms (f.e Relations between the IR of Iran and Pakistan have spanned since millenia....), unsupported claims, bias, and mostly what seems as some kind of inferiority complexion. (?) This article still needs a big overhaul. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 94.210.203.230 (talk) 19:31, 3 March 2014 (UTC)
Recent developments?
editThe recent border incidents involving border guards firing at each other including the death of a Pakistani ranger and the cancellation of the Pak-Iran pipeline should be touched upon. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.97.79.208 (talk) 01:41, 30 October 2014 (UTC)
