Hi! I will be reviewing this article. Sainsf <^>Feel at home 04:24, 24 March 2016 (UTC)
Lead
edit- We generally do not include citations in the lead. I would like them removed and having any facts mentioned only in the lead to be mentioned in the main text as well.
- greatest marine artists in history. In whose history? The world's? Russia's?
- It is implied in the world's history. Should it be explicitly stated? --Երևանցի talk 12:56, 26 March 2016 (UTC)
- It would be good to do so. No harm in stating it. Sainsf <^>Feel at home 13:12, 26 March 2016 (UTC)
- Sorry. But I don't agree. When said "in history" it's meant "in world history". If it implied a specific country it would say just that: "Russian history", "French history", etc.--Երևանցի talk 10:47, 28 March 2016 (UTC)

Rise to prominence
edit- In 1857, Aivazovsky visited Constantinople and ... of St. Vladimir in 1865. Source?
- "The vast majority of his works depict the sea." I think "his" is not proper here, mention the name.

Aivazovsky the artist

Style
edit- Duplink: Maxim Vorobiev

- Ayvazovsky's Should this not be Aivazovsky's? Needs to be consistent.

- two-peaked biblical mountain What is that?
- See Mount Ararat. It is considered a "biblical mountain" due to its association with the flood myth and Noah's Ark. It is pretty obvious in the context.--Երևանցի talk 09:08, 28 March 2016 (UTC)

That should be all. Good luck! Sainsf <^>Feel at home 14:41, 24 March 2016 (UTC)
- @Yerevantsi: In the places where I ask "what is this", you should link or explain those terms in the article. Sainsf <^>Feel at home 09:22, 28 March 2016 (UTC)
- Ok. All done.--Երևանցի talk 10:47, 28 March 2016 (UTC)
Thanks Yerevantsi. No copyvio was detected and sources are fine. The prose is well-written and the article suffices in images. I am happy to promote this as a GA. Excellent job! Sainsf <^>Feel at home 10:56, 28 March 2016 (UTC)
