Shortly, I plan to move the following pages, as follows:

  Metro Orange Line (LACMTA) --> moving to --> Orange Line (Los Angeles Metro)
  Metro Silver Line (LACMTA) --> moving to --> Silver Line (Los Angeles Metro)
  Metro Expo Line (LACMTA) --> moving to --> Expo Line (Los Angeles Metro)
  Expo Phase 1 (LACMTA) --> moving to --> Expo Phase 1 (Los Angeles Metro)
  Expo Phase 2 (LACMTA) --> moving to --> Expo Phase 2 (Los Angeles Metro)

The purpose of this change is to replace a less-well-known, technical name ("LACMTA") with a very descriptive and very familar name "Los Angeles Metro". This will allow people who are unfamiliar with the acronym "LACMTA" to find information about the system in the Los Angeles area.

(BTW, "Los Angeles" in this case refers to "Los Angeles County", since the City of Los Angeles does not have any system called "Metro".)

New articles for the ExpressLanes project and the LA Congestion reduction project?

Just to say that I intend to create a Metro ExpressLanes article (summary of project) and also a Los Angeles County Congestion Reduction Demonstration project article (Report on progress by DOT) in the near future which will provide some background context for these initiatives and will provide a context for the Silver Line article, and in particular the current developments to stations and the creation of toll lanes etc on the Harbor Transitway and on the El Monte busway. Any thoughts? and are these appropriate names for the articles? PeterEastern (talk) 05:28, 2 August 2011 (UTC)

It certainly couldn't hurt. At the least, something covering how this would affect the Silver Line is welcome. For example, Metro's webpage you linked to doesn't make clear whether these HOT lanes (god, what an awful acronym) would be the same as the ones used by Silver Line buses. Will do. Simple answer is 'yes', HOT lanes will be used by the buses and by high occupancy vehicles and in some cases by solo drivers if they pay a fee. The idea is to use the lanes to capacity and raise money from low occupancy vehicle when it is becoming full to help fund public transport and make it very expensive for solo drivers as it becomes saturated. A bit like the yield management fare structure used by many airlines. Anyway... I am still learning about this myself aand will be working it out in more detail as I write the article. Opening data for stations along route

Proposed changes to structure of Metro Rail/Busway articles

Hi all! I'm planning on changing how Wikipedia covers the history and future of the various Metro lines, moving some material out of the articles for individual lines and to articles specifically about history and expansion. Prematurely created redirects now causing a problem -- please fix

Someone created redirects for the new Metro letter names before they were officially announced -- and, apparently, before they were officially settled -- which has caused an inaccuracy. G Line (Los Angeles Metro) now redirects to this article, when it should redirect to Orange Line (Los Angeles Metro). J Line (Los Angeles Metro) is what should be pointing here, but instead it's pointing to Gold Line (Los Angeles Metro). See the Metro announcement for more details.

Unfortunately I don't know enough about how redirect pages work to wade in and fix this. Can someone who does please hop on this? --Jfruh (talk) 16:51, 9 January 2020 (UTC)

Done. G Line now redirects to Orange Line, J Line now redirects to Silver Line, and L Line now redirects to Gold Line. F Line page has been proposed for deletion. --RickyCourtney (talk) 18:14, 9 January 2020 (UTC)
