Recent revert on extinction date
edit@Fanboyphilosopher:, why did you revert my edit? The source you use does not even mention a 1100 CE extinction date. Using IUCN's approximation is much better. Ddum5347 (talk) 02:02, 20 April 2021 (UTC)
- Sorry if it was a bit abrupt, but the paper's methodology looks good and it was published much more recently than the IUCN estimate. I guess whoever originally put 1100 CE was subtracting 900 BP from ~2000 CE. I've rephrased it as 900 BP, as the source says. Fanboyphilosopher (talk) 02:10, 20 April 2021 (UTC)
- BP isn't really used. Will change to BC. Ddum5347 (talk) 02:14, 20 April 2021 (UTC)
- Aren't they not the same thing? I thought BP meant "before present", aka 900 years ago, aka about 1100 CE. Fanboyphilosopher (talk) 02:17, 20 April 2021 (UTC)
- BP is 1950. So it would be around 1050 AD. Will fix. Ddum5347 (talk) 04:12, 20 April 2021 (UTC)
