David notMD Thank you for your edits! I would like to submit it for AFC approval - do you think it is close enough? Thanks, LorriBrown (talk) 14:12, 16 April 2019 (UTC)LorriBrown (talk) 06:00, 16 April 2019 (UTC)Reply

For a start, IMBd usually not accepted as a ref (4,5,8). You use ref 5 in two places, but the second use does not relate to the ref. Ref 8, for Bo H., is IMBD, and also does not confirm that he is Joan's brother. David notMD (talk) 19:35, 16 April 2019 (UTC)Reply
Ref #3 is broken (dumps to Google search), ref #18 should be deleted, ref #19 should be used in the text. Lots of content depends of ref #3 - is all of that information in the ref? Contradictory dates as to when P.past/Present published. Clean all this up and worth submitting to AfC. David notMD (talk) 22:42, 16 April 2019 (UTC)Reply
David notMD Thank your help on this article! I already submitted it however before noticing your response... and it almost immediately was rejected by I dream of horses (duplicate article). I suppose this was my error when creating the article inadvertently to my LorriBrown user space.
I did spend a fair amount of time researching and creating the article and solicited help on resources from User:Megalibrarygirl as well as Joan Almond (NOT PAIN - NOT COI). The other draft article has some of the same reference but also uses the Joan Almond personal website. Would it not make sense to consider my version of the Joan Almond article as a basis for the other editor to contribute too - rather than the other way around? The rejection by I dream of horses as noted doesn't make sense in that she states the other article is pending in AfC but I don't see it noted in the article. Can you kindly help advise on how to negotiate this rejection. Modified this today to make it easier to follow...LorriBrown (talk) 16:20, 17 April 2019 (UTC)Reply
David notMD In the meanwhile, I've addressed concerns you kindly pointed out above::
Ref #3 is a subscription required (ProQuest), which i accessed thru my library card. I'll do more research as to how this should appear in the citation....
Ref (4,5,8) I deleted all the IMDb references although it is rather frustrating with films as there does not seem to be much on line other than IMDb for cast and crew and even that list appears to be incomplete. I'm trying to figure out how to source films but haven't resolved that as of yet. The reference used instead is The Canadian Encyclopedia for Paul Almond that mentions the two films and that Joan is a photographer. Maybe I'll have to take that entry out entirely although to me it is totally logical that she was involved in many more things than I can find proof of at this juncture.
Ref #18 & #19 Are references that refer to two separate Past/Present publications with same exact name:
(1997) exhibition catalog, softcover with fewer pages, and
(2002) hardcover book (2002) with more pages an intro and an essay & ISBN #. Not familiar with how I should make that distinction clearer? Perhaps by noting the page #'s/softcover/hardcover & essay informtion?
Ref#8 I understand that Bo Harwood is Joan Harwoods brother but if that isn't clear through the referencing I get that. I changed the reference to Bo Harwoods' page where there is a picture of the crew for Cassavetes 3 Plays Love & Hate and multiple other photos etc... Will that reference suffice you think? Thank you!!!LorriBrown (talk) 16:20, 17 April 2019 (UTC)Reply

Wikipedia's problem with IMBd is that is is open-edited - much as Wikipedia is - and thus not considered a reliable source. David notMD (talk) 16:35, 17 April 2019 (UTC)Reply

@LorriBrown: make sure you have the "permalink" for the database. It still may not link to the article without a person being logged in. EBSCOhost does the same thing. Megalibrarygirl (talk) 18:57, 17 April 2019 (UTC)Reply
@Megalibrarygirl:Do you mean the ProQuest link they provided to me: https://search.proquest.com/docview/431435524?accountid=39933LorriBrown (talk) 20:52, 17 April 2019 (UTC)Reply

@LorriBrown: That's it. If you remove the accountid, then it will let people who don't have full access to see the title of the article you're referring to. Use https://search.proquest.com/docview/431435524 instead. :) Megalibrarygirl (talk) 23:38, 19 April 2019 (UTC)Reply

Hi megalibrarygirl This article has been tagged 'citation needed' for the entry 'Almond was married to her first husband George W. Elkins, Jr. from 1954 until his death in 1969.' I have tried various search strings in google to locate another reference but have been unsuccessful. I can't seem to find anything anywhere but the Prabook but the editor that removed it noted it was unreliable. Might you have any suggestions - or should I remove it? If I remove that do I need to remove the same information from her info box? Any suggestions would be welcomed. Thanks! LorriBrown (talk) 03:29, 17 May 2019 (UTC)Reply

megalibrarygirl I think I found two newspapers articles. Do you think these will work? LorriBrown (talk) 05:46, 17 May 2019 (UTC)Reply
@LorriBrown: Newspaper articles can be excellent sources. I would add those for sure. :) Megalibrarygirl (talk) 19:50, 17 May 2019 (UTC)Reply
