Resume
editmoved this from the main page
His Stewart Talent Agency resume on their websites in four cities have several typographical errors in it, but was the main source, and other sources were added to complete the updated resume, and the Stewart Talent Agency link here goes to his old resume at https://www.stewarttalent.com/_media/talent/157/john-hoogenakker-resume-257775.pdf and this is in the footnotes.[1]

Quote in Career section
editMoving this quotation here. The career section should not start out with a quote. It should lay out a selection of the most important facts of his career in chronological order. What he thinks about his own career is not as essential as what others have written about him. Moving the content here to save it, in the event that it, or part of it) is used elsewhere. Also it is sourced to Amazon adviser -- experienced editors, is that considered an acceptable source?
Hoogenakker told Alexandria Ingham of Amazon news, "I feel very grateful to get to stretch into different parts of my own humanity in the different roles I’ve gotten to do. As far as a favorite one, the more challenging they are and the more they stretch me and the harder they make me work, the more beneficial they are to me as an actor and a human. I spent months learning Hamlet, ... [where I played the title role], and I’ve got to say I’m so blessed and blown away that I got to have that experience."

- Netherzone, Amazon Adviser is part of Fansided now. The citation would be cite interview since it's a Q&A. What's bizarre is that the interviewer is Hidden Remote, another website. But yeah, it seems like Fansided is where the interview resides. AngusW🐶🐶F (bark • sniff) 00:46, 26 October 2022 (UTC)
- Hi Angus, Thanks for this info, its good to know, altho I'm unfamiliar with Fansided (thx for link). I'm not sure what the quotes add to the article, basically he seems to be saying what every hard-working actor experiences...they look inside themselves for each role; they work hard on each role and they benefit from it as an actor and person, and they spend months learning the role and rehearsing. Isn't that what actors just do? Netherzone (talk) 02:14, 26 October 2022 (UTC)
Another quote
editThis was the second paragraph of the career section, another quote by him. We need what others have published about him.
In a 2014 Writers Theatre interview, Hoogenakker related, “I find that I identify with Dermot [his role in Port Authority at Writers Theatre in Chicago] quite a bit. I have certainly had the comforting feeling at the end of many a tough day of being reminded just how very lucky I am to have the family that I have.”

Years active
editCurrently set to 1999 as per his first professional role. Not counting the commercial as a kid as the year that one aired was not sourced. AngusW🐶🐶F (bark • sniff) 00:38, 26 October 2022 (UTC)
Birthday
editAs discussed on Kinfo Pedia's talk page, there are sources that pinpoint Hoogenakker's birthday: 1) an interview where he says "my birthday is (day) of (month)." and 2) Charlotte Observer article that says he was (age) as of (date of article). For now, I am just leaving that in the comments. When more reliable sources in the mainstream start citing his age or birthday then we can revisit this. Why 90000+ airings and 100+ appearances in the lead?
editWhy does the lead paragraph need to mention 90,000+ airings of commercials in a month? This isn't a social media personality who has noted for having a huge follower / view count. Also there are no news articles saying his relative popularity in television commercials.
Also there is no need to count every television episode he has appeared in. Actors who recur in series have hundreds to thousands of episodes. AngusW🐶🐶F (bark • sniff) 22:05, 27 October 2022 (UTC)
- I guess we were done with this, but just to mention why the grammar and topic complements the first paragraph data - For sentence style, we have 3 categories, so each category should get the number, not just the number of plays. Commercials are most of his work. I did not mention the products because it would be unfair to the products missed, and it would give free advertising to the products without paying the actor for his work. Kinfo Pedia (talk) 18:15, 28 October 2022 (UTC)
Kinfo Pedia, what reference are you using to say he is in over 100 roles and 100 commercials? If you're going to make statistical statements based on ispot.tv, you'd have to cite multiple snapshots of it. IMDb is not a reliable source. AngusW🐶🐶F (bark • sniff) 22:49, 4 November 2022 (UTC)
- ispot.tv is not a reliable source, either. They have no editorial oversight. Onel5969 TT me 21:54, 13 November 2022 (UTC)
- The site seems to be okay, many many people and agencies are using it. Since we are putting the number of plays, we should also put the number of times he was on TV, film, video and in commercials. That would be a good introduction. If not, then we should just keep the details in the body of the document, and leave the intro as a two sentence intro. Try it both ways and see. Make a second paragraph for the details. Kinfo Pedia (talk) 23:20, 13 November 2022 (UTC)
- Keep the names and dates of the roles in the chart. It was there the week we started it, and has tons of sources beyond what we would need. Kinfo Pedia (talk) 23:29, 13 November 2022 (UTC)
- I am counting the list. Kinfo Pedia (talk) 23:20, 13 November 2022 (UTC)
- You counting the list is irrelevant. You saying "the site seems to be okay" is troubling. Your opinion of the site is irrelevant. And as I've said before, you are exhibiting tremendous examples of WP:OWN. You should step back from this article at this time and let others work on it. You are not making constructive edits to it. Onel5969 TT me 00:36, 14 November 2022 (UTC)
- "Math" and "counting" are allowable topics, according to the Wikipedia article about original research (which counting is not). It says it is okay to use because it is easy to verify the numbers. Kinfo Pedia (talk) 21:12, 8 December 2022 (UTC)

Walter the Cat
editThis isn't a page for Walter the Cat, so that paragraph doesn't need to be detailed that way for every commercial. AngusW🐶🐶F (bark • sniff) 22:50, 4 November 2022 (UTC)
- okay, we should keep the fact that it was during the Super Bowl in there. I saw the commercial when it aired and I found sources for it. I will even have the time it aired when I look back at my DVD. Oh, is that too much detail too. Well, let's just mention it. I noticed we did not need my three paragraphs of Ramseyer history. He should have his own page too, but he is a living, private person, so will skip that. Hey, have a great day!!! Kinfo Pedia (talk) 23:17, 13 November 2022 (UTC)
- Oh, then I guess I should stop putting Dilly Dilly history in there too, and just have the link with the main idea. Okay. Kinfo Pedia (talk) 23:21, 13 November 2022 (UTC)
- Dilly Dilly information goes on the Dilly Dilly page. AngusW🐶🐶F (bark • sniff) 17:54, 9 December 2022 (UTC)
- Does that mean we should take it out of the introduction? We should let it stay in there somewhere, so keep it in the stage, screen and commercial section. Kinfo Pedia (talk) 15:04, 16 December 2022 (UTC)
- No, he is associated with Dilly Dilly as Tom Kenny is to SpongeBob. AngusW🐶🐶F (bark • sniff) 15:09, 16 December 2022 (UTC)
- so we can keep it, right? Thanks. Kinfo Pedia (talk) 20:55, 18 December 2022 (UTC)

Television credits
editDo not list specific episodes and roles unless you can confirm them with TV Guide, newspaper/magazine review, or viewing the episode and seeing his name flash on the screen with {{cite episode}}
. For example, the ER episode is likely the first one of season 12, but unless you can show the on-screen credit of his name, it shouldn't be listed there. AngusW🐶🐶F (bark • sniff) 16:18, 9 December 2022 (UTC)
- I DID put the on-screen credit and many sources for the character name in the show. I don't know why you or others keep deleting the name "Dr. Collins" and other roles. I literally spent ALL NIGHT working on this. I did NOT go to sleep yet, so I am 12 hours LATE, boo hoo, zzz.
- Why do people say that some website is not reliable? How do we find out which ones are? Obviously, his own resume would have his work correctly, unless they mis-spelled something, or had not updated it.
- Please do NOT delete any of my work. Just write me about it so I can keep my footnotes. Maybe I should put all the footnotes at the end of the paragraph instead of trying to squeeze them in between sentences. I will re-edit my Chevy paragraph to make it shorter. He was promoting the Trail Boss 1500, NOT the electric vehicle. The Sopranos cast did the EV one. Kinfo Pedia (talk) 14:58, 16 December 2022 (UTC)
- Did you create / open / start writing the framework of the Hoogenakker page? Why do you write on his page?
- When? November 2022?
- Happy Christmas / Merry Christmas / Happy New Year Kinfo Pedia (talk) 15:02, 16 December 2022 (UTC)
- No, you referenced IMDB and Fandom Wikia which are both unrealiable sources. WP:RSP, WP:RS/IMDB. AngusW🐶🐶F (bark • sniff) 15:08, 16 December 2022 (UTC)
- I didn't know what fandom was. I thought the data base one was okay to use. Somebody has to have a correct resume from the actor. The ones I found had errors, that is why I joined it to help out. You would think his own resume would be correct. Too bad people are not allowed to write their own biography here. You know I like to read and research. I get on a "train" of information, or is that a "trivia train", and want to get everything right. Thanks for your help!!!!!!!!! Merry Christmas and Happy New Year. Kinfo Pedia (talk) 20:58, 18 December 2022 (UTC)
- WHY are you removing the words "Dr. Collins" and the name of episode one of season 12? Kinfo Pedia (talk) 22:24, 18 December 2022 (UTC)
- Who is an expert and an employee of Wikipedia who can give me some advice? Please let me know. I plan to return in the month. Thanks. Would EVERYone PLEASE FIND some sources? Thanks. Kinfo Pedia (talk) 22:26, 18 December 2022 (UTC)
- I already told you why I removed it. You have no reliable sources that show he is credited for that role. Did you cite the episode itself with the credits? Is there a screenshot that lists his name on the screen at any time? Just because you visually see him in a scene doesn't confirm he is in it or that his role is notable.
- So here is one way it can be vetted: 1) Look through closing credits or opening credits guest starring for his name, and cite that timestamp. 2) Go to the scene that he is in, turn on closed captions and see if they list him as Dr. Collins or refer to him as Dr. Collins, timestamp that 3) format this as a cite episode
- How it CAN'T be vetted: 1) See him in a scene, yep, that's him and there's his voice. 2) Citing IMDb / Fandom AngusW🐶🐶F (bark • sniff) 03:54, 19 December 2022 (UTC)
- Happy New Year. I'm just checking my notes. I never saw the ER episode. I found the character name in several versions of his resumes and a list of characters in the episode. Thanks. I don't know if I had a footnote for it, but there should be some. I'm taking a break and saving my input in my computer to find sources and add anything later that isn't redundant. Thanks for you input!!!!! Kinfo Pedia (talk) 19:50, 19 January 2023 (UTC)
