John Starks also had surgery and recovered from testicular cancer. There is no note of that in the article, but I do not know the details. Still a worthy mention if one is searching for athletes with cancer. Thanks.—Preceding unsigned comment added by 64.180.243.253 (talk) 21:52, 2 July 2006 (UTC)Reply

Wasn't Starks the coach of the Westchester Wildfire basketball team? Benje309 03:26, 30 December 2006 (UTC)Reply

There is a whole bunch of wrong information in the NBA Finals section. It was game 3 where Cassell fouled Starks on a 3pt attempt and Starks could only take 2 FTs. He did not make both FTs, he had to miss the second so the Knicks could try and get the rebound, which they did not. This did not happen in game 6. Also Riley is likely misquoted about the whole "Starks was a huge mistake in games 6 and 7". Game 7 yes, but game 6 he had a great game, there's a reason he was taking the potential series winning shot, and there isn't any shame in it being blocked by one of the greatest defensive players of all-time. —Preceding unsigned comment added by John Markisch (talkcontribs) 09:13, 15 April 2008 (UTC)Reply

Fair use rationale for Image:StarksnYK.jpg

edit

Image:StarksnYK.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use. Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page. If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. BetacommandBot (talk) 15:08, 21 January 2008 (UTC)Reply

– The basketball player's entry was created in February 2004 and, upon the creation of the John Starks disambiguation page, was moved to John Starks (basketball player) in January 2006 and then to John Starks (basketball) in February 2006. It remained under that header for 15 years, until January 2021, when it was moved to John Starks and the dab page to John Starks (disambiguation), both unilaterally. If there is no consensus for these moves, then the original headers should be restored per nomination and if there is such consensus, then there is no need to keep the dab page per WP:ONEOTHER and it should be either deleted or, to preserve its lengthy revision history, redirected to either John Starks or to the similar-sounding John Stark (disambiguation) page, whichever would seem to be more intuitive. — Roman Spinner (talkcontribs) 07:20, 13 January 2023 (UTC)Reply

Dressage Champion?

edit

No further information to support the claim in the header that he is also a dressage champion. 2601:800:C480:CAF0:FDD5:DF1C:60F3:7BA9 (talk) 02:46, 17 April 2024 (UTC)Reply
