What's this?
editWho has changed this, as I remember, relatively reasonable article in this way? To mention Suk's funeral march written for himself (nothing more than a little musical joke) and "heavy influence of Dvořák" and nothing about Suk's extensive development from dvořákian starting point to a complex polyphony, new orchestration, extension of tonality, polyrhytms, monumental forms, mahlerian symphonic ambitions? Does the author even know anything about this? I would be glad if the article was not been written by somebody who has so poor information about the composer's works. If he only read John Tyrrell's Grove article carefully before editing! — Preceding unsigned comment added by Lyricaltones (talk • contribs) 19:33, 31 January 2019 (UTC)
His children?
editUntitled
editHe was the grandfather of Josef Suk the violinist. That means that he must have had a son. But no mention is made of his children, only his wife who died very young - if she was the only wife. 81.154.15.60 (talk) 23:19, 12 June 2010 (UTC)
- The New Grove should have this info. HammerFilmFan (talk) 12:54, 26 April 2011 (UTC) HammerFilmFan
- Josef Suk (1901 – 1951), the father of Josef Suk the violinist was the only child of Josef Suk the composer and his wife, Otilie. Suk (composer) never remarried again. --Vejvančický (talk | contribs) 13:18, 26 April 2011 (UTC)
Sometimes it seems that there is too little organized information in the world, on the Web, and in WP. David Spector (user/talk) 19:34, 27 June 2012 (UTC)
The only child of Josef Suk the composer was Ing. Josef Suk (1901 -- 1951), engineer of agriculture, amateur musician and painter (performed in amateur string quartet, composed piano pieces). He had two sons with his first wife Marie -- Josef (1929 -- 2011) the violinist and Antonín (1931 -- 1961). After Marie's death in a suicide, he for the second time, but died before his third son Jan Suk (1952) was born. Apparently also a Time Lord
editUnder Suk's background:
- Though he did not start composing until 1891
Under Suk's musical style:
- he wrote his own funeral march in 1889.
Please check references and rewrite one assertion or the other. --Rfsmit (talk) 19:46, 5 January 2015 (UTC)
The information he didn't start composing until 1891 is nonsense! He composed since his 8 years, before 1891 he composed Mass in B major (1888), String quartet in D minor (1888), Ballade in D minor for violin and piano (1890) and other works.94.113.144.104 (talk) 10:52, 16 August 2015 (UTC)

Spelling of wife's name
editHis wife's name is spelled in two different ways in the article — presumably accurately in the Czech manner and then in an anglicized form. Ishboyfay (talk) 19:31, 6 November 2023 (UTC)
