... that in 2023, Julian Hill became the first player from his college ever to make an NFL roster? Source: Campbell Fighting Camels website ("The Fayetteville, N.C. native is the first Camel to appear on an NFL 53-man roster.")
@BeanieFan11 and Onegreatjoke: Correct me if I am wrong but ever seems like an unnecessary word in the hook and article. I will remove it prior to promotion and if you disagree ping me or post on talk.
@Onegreatjoke, Vaticidalprophet, and Bruxton: I reviewed a QPQ, but I just thought of a good ALT hook with two articles that would require a second QPQ - before I do that, I would like to know what you think of ALT1: ... that Julian Hill was the first player from Campbell University to make an NFL roster, but Brevin Allen was the first to play in a game? Source: as you can see here / here / here, Allen was a practice squad elevation who did play, while Hill who made the final roster did not play in the first game. hm. I'm not huge on double hooks in most cases -- they tend to be less snappy -- and we already had a strong single hook here, but I see from Allen's article he was the first player from his high school to play in the NFL. We could give Allen his own nomination for that and let Hill get the college? Vaticidalprophet15:41, 15 September 2023 (UTC)Reply
Eh, I kind of feel like being the first player from a high school to play in the NFL is a lot more common / less interesting than the first from a college - plus its really rare in my experience that the first to make a team ends up not being the first to play and someone else does - I think a combined hook is the best option if we're going to get both featured - let's see what Bruxton and Onegreatjoke think. To be clear, it's not the strongest of preferences -- so far as double hooks go this one's decent -- but I think it's a little stronger to have separate hooks. The new hook would need re-reviewing from scratch if you want to run with it, though, so it'd have to go back to DYKN in that case. Vaticidalprophet18:09, 15 September 2023 (UTC)Reply
