editthe confirmation who wanted.... [1]
I do not know if this is true as Jump as been on radio in Australia since march and has already charted etc. I have heard on Melbourne Nove 100 radio station that Push and I Love New york will be played over the next few months.
- Last I heard, Warners announced "Get Together" will be the last single released from the album. Why was this page created without any confirmation? -- eo 01:33, 15 May 2006 (UTC)
it is going to be the last single off COADF. It will be sold as a single in North America, South Africa, Japan and Australia while the tour is in those areas and as a promo radio single in Europe. [2]
- that link points to a fan site but not to any specific announcement about the release of "Jump" as a single. is there a word from her record company? that's the kind of source need to justify this article. -- eo 02:26, 16 May 2006 (UTC)
- From what I have read and heard, "Jump" might be released as a club-only single. Warner Bros. does not plan to release a fourth commercial single from the album. I think we should wait until after "Get Together" comes out to see if "Jump" will be released. -- Underneath-it-All 17:43, 17 May 2006 (UTC)
Just leave the page... its not a big issue. Who cares
- It matters because this is an encyclopedia. -- eo 15:28, 19 May 2006 (UTC)
Yes with info regarding a possible single!!!!!
- "possible single"... exactly. Again, this is an encyclopedia, not a fan site or a rumour mill. Until Warners makes an offical announcement there really shouldn't be a page, unless the song holds some other monumental notability, which it doesn't. -- eo 14:23, 21 May 2006 (UTC)
- I suppose this page should be merged with Confessions on a Dance Floor. —Eternal Equinox | talk 19:42, 21 May 2006 (UTC)
Just wondering...
edit...how this page got created again... has Warner Bros. confirmed it as a single? The words "rumour" and "rumoured" appear about 50 billion times throughout the article. How is this notable? -- eo 22:08, 6 July 2006 (UTC)
- Because "Jump" is written in the sticker thing on the Confessions of a Dancefloor CD along with Hung Up/Sorry so maybe that's why people are thinking Jump would be a single too--hottie 17:33, 15 July 2006 (UTC)

Need citation for "tentative scheduling of release in Autumn 2006"
editWP:NOT allows some discussion of future events
- It is appropriate to report discussion and arguments about the prospects for success of future proposals and projects or whether some development will occur, provided that discussion is properly referenced. It is not appropriate for an editor to insert their own opinions or analysis because of Wikipedia's prohibition on original research. Forward-looking articles about unreleased products (e.g. movies, games, etc.) require special care to make sure that they are not advertising.
"tentatively scheduled" sort of works although "rumored to be scheduled" is probably better and more accurate.
Also note: the "Ask Billboard" column does NOT say that "Jump" is tentatively scheduled for release in Autumn 2006. All it says is that "Jump" will be the fourth single.
This article has been nominated for deletion with the votes running overwhelmingly in favor of deletion because "Wikipedia is not a crystal ball".
If you want to save this article from deletion, you need to get all the "crystal ball" predictions of future events out of it or source the predictions to reliable sources.
Otherwise, I can't help you.
cover?
editIs this the cover? - http://img.mp3sugar.com/album/cover79_36939.jpg
cover?
editis this the actual cover? looks different from the other singles i would of expected a diff pic more in the purple zone like the othres [4]
I think the Jump single will coincide with her HM campaign. Thus, it will not have the discoball/purple haze look. Someone should change it on the wiki article page
Citation needed
editDoes anyone have proof that Jump is to be the "final" single from "Confessions on a Dance Floor"??? On the album's release, Warners issued a statement saying five singles would be lifted from the album. Paul75 18:49, 19 September 2006 (UTC) Smaller facts also need to be corrected, im pretty sure that i read that madonna had her hair cut short and dyed blonde, therefore she probebly isnt wearing a wig in the video.
Vandalism
editCan someone close this article due to vandalism to unregistered users? Someone changed Japan to Corsica under the music video section and added a bogus remix to the Official versions section.ShadowBoxer 10:41, 24 October 2006 (UTC)
Charts positions
editThere seems to be a back-and-forth with the chart positions tables. One format has sales and airplay separated out into two separate columns and the other has an alphabetical list of countries. Personally I don't have an much of a preference either way, as long as the style adheres to WP:MUSIC/TABLE and things are sourced properly. The only thing I oppose (and have removed) is the listing of countries in which "Jump" has not charted. Placing tons of charts with dashes is presumptuous and goes against Wikipedia's policy of not being a "crystal ball". Before this turns into a reverting war, does anyone else have comments? - eo 19:05, 13 November 2006 (UTC)
- Just so everybody knows, "Jump" failed to enter the Canadian Singles Chart (her second after "Sorry") and her first not to reach the BDS airplay chart. Please don't include any Canadian positions. Velten 21:04, 15 November 2006 (UTC)
- A Canadian trajectory has been added with a debut position of #100. Is this correct or has it not charted? Does anyone have a source? - eo 22:09, 15 November 2006 (UTC)
yes its true i just found it on the canadian bds airplay site it was just updated and jump has just debuted at 100 Rsf7589 22:30, 15 November 2006 (UTC)
- Yeah, oddly enough after I posted that last message, the Canadian airplay chart updated. :D Velten 15:39, 18 November 2006 (UTC)
Mello?
editDid Madonna comment on the video or Death Note before? Is it true that her look in the video is a tribute to Mello? 218.103.243.188 22:44, 17 June 2007 (UTC)
- she did not confirmed this, it was obviously written by fans. it should be removed. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 216.165.43.247 (talk) 03:56, 9 November 2007 (UTC)
Single
editDoes this flop of a single really need a page this long dedicated too it??
- Firstly, make note you should really sign your posts with four tildes (~~~~) when you post so we know who you are and can contact your talk page if it is deemed necessary. Secondly, before saying that, consult the evil forces of Wikipedia:Notability before you post, so we can discuss this according to Wikipedia guidelines. IceUnshattered (talk) 21:27, 7 June 2008 (UTC)
Live Performances
editI think it should also be noted that a small sample from this song ("Are you ready?") is used in the Into the Groove performance on the Sticky & Sweet Tour.--79.112.50.60 (talk) 18:48, 12 August 2009 (UTC)
Question about image caption
edit"The background signboards display the words Madonna and Jump in Japanese." Which of the signboards in the image are meant here? I can make out the beginning of a "Ramen" sign (up to "me"/メ) a "hotel" sign and some others none of which displays either "Madonna" or "Jump". Also, what should I look for, the names transcribed in katakana (マドンナ and ジャンプ) or "jump" translated to Japanese? bamse (talk) 17:02, 6 March 2010 (UTC)
- Both my dear :) --Legolas (talk2me) 03:48, 8 March 2010 (UTC)
- Can you tell me where? bamse (talk) 10:40, 8 March 2010 (UTC)

Genre and Tempo.
editWhen I listened to Jump, I knew of all the genres, though Jump is actually Nu-disco rather than real disco as it's a 21st Century renewed interest of disco after the 80's eras of post-disco, which came after Disco Demolition Night on July 12, 1979, which led to a decline in popularity of disco and disco didn't make a comeback in trending for music until the late 2010's. It's disco-drum-indebted, but that's what nu-disco songs are like and Jump is actually a nu-disco song (which Can't Get You Out of My Head also is) and nu-disco has a more modern style as opposed to the styles including string and bass sections heard in disco and the rhythm on Jump is not only nu-disco, but is especially and mainly techno.
Plus, Jump isn't really 126 beats per minute, but 119, as it didn't sound as fast-paced as a 126 beat per minute song like, for example, Can't Get You Out of My Head by Kylie Minogue, which if you played that and Jump at the same time, they'd play out of sync by each other very quickly due to the different tempos. [[5]] The original source for it being 126 bpm, the sheet music, got the metronome all wrong for Jump, when it's actually 119 beats per minute.
