The movie is similar to the Indian hindi movie Maine Pyaar Kyun Kiya? (Hindi: मैंने प्यार क्यों किया?) released on 15 July 2005, directed by David Dhawan. Maine Pyaar Kyun Kiya is about the relationships of a womanizing doctor named 'Samir' (Salman Khan) who gets ultimately stuck between two women: a patient with suicidal tendencies named 'Sonia' (Katrina Kaif) and his nurse 'Naina' (Sushmita Sen). Maine Pyaar Kyun Kiya is itself based on the 1969 English movie Cactus Flower.
