Machingun? REALLY?
editAt 14.5x115mm (58% the diameter and 83 the overall length of the NATO standard 25×137mm), can you REALLY call this a "machinegun"? It's getting a little heavy for that, this really is an autocannon by all reasonable measures. That teh Russians called it a machinegun when it was in use is hardly realevant, considering their history of outright lying about what they were up to and when. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 67.5.249.85 (talk) 05:07, 26 November 2012 (UTC)
I dont have a source for this but i believe 20mm and above is considered a cannon instead of a machinegun. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 84.251.1.46 (talk) 19:48, 22 January 2013 (UTC)
- With regard to the first comment above, I'm no genius, but I do believe that cannons fire shells and machine-guns fire bullets. Since this baby does, indeed, fire bullets (however large they may be) it is a machine-gun.--172.130.3.100 (talk) 01:04, 24 August 2013 (UTC)
Found a page that gives figures for the infantry versions on both two wheeled and tripod mounts but my wiki fu is weak and attempting to edit them in screwed up somehow, could someone with better ability do it please. "Zikoyak"
editSaw an Afghan National Police member mention the Taliban having 'Zikoyaks' in a Vice episode, and a quick google suggests it refers to the KPV. What I can't find is if it's a single gun or a specific configuration (for example a quad AA mount on the back of a truck). Any idea where this nickname comes from and what exactly it refers to? -- MiG (talk) 10:52, 21 June 2015 (UTC)
have you ever heard about Robert McNamara_ Have you ever heard, that Tonkin incident was fully false flag, like almost everything, concerning US military? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 178.165.129.157 (talk) 16:35, 16 May 2016 (UTC)
Service Record
editCurrently much of the description of the use of the weapon as a naval armament is taken up by a discussion of the Gulf of Tonkin incident. While certainly to do with the KPV would it not be better to move this into a larger section covering the various wars and actions the weapon has been used in? 82.39.250.199 (talk) 21:30, 25 September 2016 (UTC)
