Kallianpur has also got very famous Sri Venkatramana temple,which is believed to be built around 350 years back.Lord Navaneeta Krishna forms the main deity here.This is a very beautiful idol and it is said that this was recovered from river Swarna which flows near the temple.This temple was renovated twice and recently n 1990's. Gowda Saraswat Brahmans(GSB) form a main community here with konkani as their mother tongue. Mr TMA Pai ,founder of modern education city Manipal hailed from this village. Many religous functions have been held in sri venkatramana temple,mainly Chaturmasa Vrita of Sri Gokarna Matadish in 1994 and Chaturmasa Vrita of Sri Kashi Matadhish in 1997. Every year "Bhajana Sapthaha" is held in the month of December,this includes reciting bhajans by different groups day and night for seven days with lord Vithoba Rakhumai idol placed in the temple. "Karthika masa depostsava" in the month of november, "Kanakabhisheka" in the month of january,"Varamahalaxmi Vrita" in the month of August, "Chandika Homa" in the month of September are other main religious functions being held here. GSB Mandali, is registered organisation formed by young konkani men and is involved in many social and charitable causes. Kallianpur is a developed village with all modern amenities like schools,college,hospital, good transport and communication facilities and most importantly encouraging and educated people from here have led the name to great heights.

This Venkatramana Temple at Kallianpur has a website at http://www.srivenkataramanatemple.com/ Not river Swarna. That is river Suvarna. But nice article.
