Merger proposal
edit- The following discussion is closed. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made in a new section. A summary of the conclusions reached follows.
- The result of this discussion was to merge. Chhandama (talk) 02:55, 8 December 2017 (UTC)
- Aren't the Khawthlangtuipui River and Karnaphuli River the same river, the name being different on the Indian and Bangladeshi sides of the border? In such situations, doesn't Wikipedia normally have just a single article (like in the case of the Danube, for instance)? I propose that Khawthlangtuipui River be merged into Karnaphuli River. I think that a merged article will convey a more complete picture of the river, without becoming unwieldy in size. Worldbruce (talk) 06:33, 17 December 2015 (UTC)
- Support: I support the merger of Khawthlangtuipui River into Karnaphuli River --Ragib (talk) 21:20, 17 December 2015 (UTC)
- Not agrred. Because the bangladeshi part do not known as Khawthlangtuipui River and Indian part as Karnaphuli River like Ganga and padma the same river with two different name in two borders. ferdous TM 14:15, 9 January 2016 (UTC)
- Oppose: Different name would result in dispute over which name to use.Vinegarymass911 (talk) 08:14, 2 April 2016 (UTC)
- Support: A single river should really have only one article. Possible disputes should not be a factor in the decision...Jokulhlaup (talk) 08:36, 5 April 2016 (UTC)
