Domestic abuse

edit

I've heard that Ghandi beat his wife from quite a few people, can anyone back this up with a citation? or is it just an urban legend. Either way it should probably be noted either here or on the Ghandi entry

Appendicectomy

edit

Wasn't Kasturba who risked death on the opposition of Gandhi to appendicectomy? --Error 01:28, 23 May 2005 (UTC)Reply

Ghandi was opposed to the use of penicillin (not to mention appendectomy)? Perhaps we need rather more verified information about Ghandi's medical views and how these affected his wife.68.72.80.96 01:25, 30 May 2007 (UTC)Reply

Marriage at age 13 to Gandhi

edit

If she was born in April 1869, she'd have been 13 in May 1882. However, the article on Gandhi himself says that he was born in October 1869, which'd have made him 12 in May 1882 when they both married. This article claims that both him and her were 13. Either this is incorrect or the dates of birth are.--h i s s p a c e r e s e a r c h 16:48, 20 February 2007 (UTC)Reply

Vandalism?

edit

I noticed that there are many apparent mispellings of Kasturba's name throughout this article. Most of the references on her page spell it "Masturba". Seems like obvious vandalism unless this is an alternate spelling of her name. If this is the case, I think that we should aim for consistency and use only one spelling. I will change all references to "Kasturba" unless someone gives comments to the contrary. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Rubylexicon (talkcontribs) 16:59, 21 February 2007 (UTC).Reply

WikiProject class rating

This article was automatically assessed because at least one WikiProject had rated the article as stub, and the rating on other projects was brought up to Stub class. BetacommandBot 17:03, 9 November 2007 (UTC)Reply

Known for

edit

I think the info box does Kasturba Gandhi a disservice, as she was certainly "known" for more than "being Mohandas Gandhi's wife". (If that were the case, she wouldn't have an article.)Mk5384 (talk) 10:28, 6 July 2010 (UTC)Reply

Plagiarism in "Health and Death"

edit

I'd like to point out that in the Health and Death section, there is plagiarized material from Quora.com

The following text was used without quotation or reference, and the validity of the text is questionable because it appears as part of a question asked on Quora: It was Gandhi, after learning that the penicillin had to be administered by injection every four to six hours, who finally persuaded his youngest son to give up the idea. Gandhi didn't believe in modern medicine.[1]

This matches text in the Health and Death Section. Trojan16626 (talk) 21:28, 11 May 2014 (UTC)Reply

Literacy

edit

The article currently states that she taught women reading. This seems to contradict other sources (see Tarlo, 'Married to the Mahatma', 1997) that indicate she was largely illiterate and that her attempts to read and write were "sporadica" and "limited". Place of death contradiction

edit

The sidebar in this article lists her dying in prison; the body of the main article lists her dying at an old palace. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2601:184:407F:8020:81D0:7CD8:A417:7A1A (talk) 12:43, 27 June 2022 (UTC)Reply
