Bacall quote

edit

The article makes a claim that Turner once introduced herself to Lauren Bacall by saying, "Hi, I'm the young you." However, in a recent interview with Turner, she tells it differently: that it was actually Bacall who when introduced to Turner said, "Oh you’re the young me."

Nude emphasis

edit

There seems to be rather too much emphasis on her sexiness, nude appearances, etc., in this article. If I don't get an argument against this, I'll rewrite the article a little in order to achieve a slightly more mature balance. Mel Etitis (Μελ Ετητης) 22:50, 9 Feb 2005 (UTC)

I find it a little odd that the only illustration is a still from one of her flops. Does anyone have a more postive (and better quality) photo? Mel Etitis (Μελ Ετητης) 10:37, 3 Jun 2005 (UTC)

she is one of the few glamourous actors of her era. she need not be nude to be beautiful. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 108.228.189.108 (talk) 22:44, 16 July 2013 (UTC)Reply

Also, IMDB lists a lot more (more recent) filmography of hers here http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0000678/ shouldnt it be updated on the WiKi page? Archangel Michael 16:58, 16 June 2006 (UTC)Reply

Appears in "Friends"

No mention of Kathleen playing Chandler Bing's (Matthew Perry) cross-dressing father Helena Handbasket, aka Charles Bing. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by GRX1 (talkcontribs) 03:17, 24 April 2007 (UTC).Reply

She is AMAZING in Californication! She is respected and loved for being so courageous to be a star on the show. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.11.155.169 (talk) 23:28, 20 October 2009 (UTC)Reply

Appearance in The Graduate

edit

Didn't she also appear in the American version of the play? http://www.ibdb.com/person.asp?ID=62798 212.150.62.151 (talk) 16:38, 12 January 2008 (UTC)Reply

It's already in the article.ExpatSalopian (talk) 19:46, 22 February 2013 (UTC)Reply

Southwest Missouri State University

edit

The name was not changed to Missouri State University until 2005, so it would have been the above at the time she attended. Wschart (talk) 01:38, 23 August 2009 (UTC)Reply

Picture

edit

I don't know the rules about photos here, but that is an awful picture of her. Is there nothing better, at least something of her face?

I was just about to say that; you can only see a small portion of her face: that's not really an encyclopedic entry, is it? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Forteana (talkcontribs) 03:33, 14 August 2010 (UTC)Reply

I came to the discussion page just for this reason. This picture is basically the back of her head. This is much better but Im not sure how to edit the photos of wikipedia http://www.fullissue.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/05/Kathleen-Turner-213x300.jpg — Preceding unsigned comment added by 64.121.105.192 (talk) 05:14, 29 May 2011 (UTC)Reply

I agree with the above contributor that the fullissue link would make a good replacement picture.Mtnu^) (talk) 00:40, 3 September 2011 (UTC)Reply

Photograph Change

edit

Can anyone find a better photo for this article? It's a picture of the back of her head and you can barely recognize her.HTWoodson (talk) 11:07, 3 August 2010 (UTC)Reply

American expatriates in Canada?

edit

She is in category American expatriates in Canada. However, there is no mention about it in the article. If true, then it should be sourced and added in the article, too. Otherwise taken away. 85.217.20.78 (talk) 02:28, 8 March 2015 (UTC)Reply

Venezuela

edit

Turner spent a good part of her youth with her family in South America, Venezuela, I think — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2601:540:C400:8C80:2D61:F26D:E842:4474 (talk) 19:45, 24 September 2018 (UTC)Reply

No citations from her memoir

edit

Greetings fellow Wikipedians! None of the citations in this article directly reference Turner's own statements in her 2008 memoir. The article contains some material that is word for word out of her memoir, but they seem to have been drawn from media stories, TV shows, etc. That seems sort of indirect. I will remedy that.
