Lilori Temple.
editLilori Temple is situated in Katras. Somebody has tagged 'citation needed" on existence of wastes in the compound. Actually the situation can be seen by anyone who visits the temple during the Marriage season or even otherwise. If you would go in the morning after a day of marriage you would experience the smell of waste food which has not been disposed. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 121.245.210.69 (talk) 09:20, 27 September 2011 (UTC)
Original research
editKatras is an under-developed area. it hardly has any research paper or article devoted to it. It is very difficult to back all the claims through citation. While there may be some problems of personlised opinion and experience, it is not as if these are wrong. In fact following may be cited- 1. The situation of Water bodies like Raja Bandh can be seen by visiting the place. Same with the Lilori Temple compound. 2. Local newspapers are always full of reports of blatant coal-thefts going on. 3. As for existence of Dalals, only some one who resides there and uses govt. facilities like OBC Certificate, Domicile certificate etc can know the situation. I have often been in the thick and thin of problem faced by people so i know a lot of the problems being faced by the people. 4. Most of the part which can be termed original research can only be verified by actually being in that place and seeing the situation. For example water deficiency or problems being faced in the banks. 5. I have added the picture of Raja Talab to show its worsening conditions. 6. May be in near times i would also be able to tag Replies which i have received from the local administration on many of these problem. 7. One of such replies shows that G N M High School has started legal proceedings against the Katras College for illegal occupation of its land. And also that blatant wastage of money and illegal encroachment of public land is being done by some people.
Wait for more about the one of the many Lapataganjs (Lost places) of India.

- You can use local newspapers to back up the facts in the articles. Magazines and websites may contain editorials about the conditions and some of the actions (or inactions) in government response. Please read WP:NOR for more ideas on reliable sources. If conditions suck, someone's bound to write about it. Do the temples have literature or websites? You can cite that too for the number of visitors and activities. Temples can be grouped in one category. Banks, organizations and individual shop names do not need to be listed. Do not say that conditions are worse without providing the data to back up the claim. If there are illegal activities, cite the crime rates reported by the papers. -AngusWOOF (talk) 07:05, 24 May 2013 (UTC)
- I would be the most happy person if temples had websites and literature. But sorry to say, folk culture and customary practices are mostly in unwritten form. For example if I include 'family song-invocation to the ancestors' sung by women folk in wiki-commons how am I supposed to back that up with any literature or books because these have never been written and have been passed on from generations to generations in oral form. For understanding the problem any person who try to write about any small town or semi-urban area or village of India faces you will have to understand that there is a saying in India that here baani (language) and paani (water) changes every mile. Every family has its own ancestral deities for example Mother Lilori is a family deity of the local landlord. Or should we just for the sake of artificial concern with citation and proofs ignore/neglect such a beautiful human cultural treasure spreading in every nook and cranny of this country which is diverse to the core. In a post-modern world there is no one best way to say or to evaluate anything. Best proof of the many of the controversial points
made here is that most of them have remained unchanged for last two years. Waaseypore (in Dhanbad) was never on any newspaper, in any book before a bollywood movie was made on it. Does that mean that its history started from this film? Just because despite its being such a gore place it was never mentioned in any newspaper reports/books/websites? As if a man does not have a birth certificate we should never believe that he has been born. And by that standard at least 50% of Indian population have not been born. If wikipedia wants to become a repository of knowledge it will have to give place to theses unheard voices someday or the other. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Atulburnwal (talk • contribs) 18:49, 24 September 2013 (UTC)
- The current article contains a ton of information that cannot be cited, and because there are no citations there is no way for the reader to determine what it is verifiable, so it will likely be deleted. I suggest reading WP:NOT and WP:SOAPBOX and WP:ENN. Cited sources don't have to be on a website or in printed format, but should still be documented somewhere. -AngusWOOF (talk) 20:00, 24 September 2013 (UTC)
