Merger proposal
editI propose that Kaupina be merged into Kowpeenam. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 194.63.135.8 (talk) 20:32, 15 January 2012 (UTC)
This page should be merged with the Langota page. They refer to the same article of clothing; furthermore, langot, langoti, and langota are far more common terms for this garment. Psurajit (talk) 22:05, 25 December 2016 (UTC)
A kaupina and a langota are not the same thing. A kaupina is an unsewn garment and doesn't cover the buttocks (it passes between the buttocks). A langota is sewn and covers the buttocks. Kaupina is mostly worn by ascetics, and maybe by older men in poorer parts of India. Langota is mostly worn by wrestlers. 72.80.108.82 (talk) 19:37, 7 February 2018 (UTC)
- Please provide the sources. 202.156.182.84 (talk) 20:39, 17 April 2018 (UTC)
Support the merge proposal: Distinction between langot and kaupinam is little, one main article as kaupinam will do and just record langota within that main article as a newer variation in a subsection. 202.156.182.84 (talk) 20:39, 17 April 2018 (UTC)
- Merger complete. Klbrain (talk) 04:58, 9 August 2019 (UTC)

edit"Kaupinam (Devanagari:कौपिनम), Kaupina (Devanagari: कौपिन) or Langot (Devanagari: लंगोट)" should be I think KaupInam, KaupIna (Sanskrit:कौपीनम्, कौपीन) or Langot (Hindi: लंगोट) — Preceding unsigned comment added by Dvnsarma (talk • contribs) 00:50, 17 September 2012 (UTC)
