Her real name

edit

The English name she used before joining the ShowBiz was "Vivian" (or "Vivien"?), according to the press. — Instantnood 05:57, Apr 12, 2005 (UTC)

However, her generally accepted English name is now Kelly, so her previous name is unimportant. King 05:05, September 12, 2005 (UTC)

This article says her birth name was Viven. Does anyone know if that is true? I would like to see where that came from.--Haley 19:31, 11 August 2006 (UTC)Reply

Don't know about her birth name, but Vivian was certainly what she went by in high school and college. -66.28.68.140 (talk) 21:53, 15 January 2010 (UTC)Reply

Korean?

edit

She doesn't speak Korean fluently. I have a recent audioclip in which she says so herself. She knows a line or two but she definitely does NOT speak Korean FLUENTLY as stated in the article.

I cut it for you. NSilter 15:33, August 2, 2005 (UTC)

Discography

edit

Do you think the Japanese page is a better model for this page? Japanese version It looks like this discography doesn't go back very far. NSilter 01:02, 8 December 2005 (UTC)Reply

I've expanded the discography from Kelly's official site. However, the Chinese official titles are not listed. I will do some research and try to find them.--Haley 19:27, 11 August 2006 (UTC)Reply

Also, according to the Japanese page, she only speaks a little Japanese:

  • 高校時代は日本(神戸)に住んでいたこともあり、日本語が少し話せる

The Chinese page doesn't discuss what languages she speaks. The German and Indonesian pages seem to be influenced by this page. NSilter 23:19, 13 January 2006 (UTC)Reply

She's said in interviews (I don't have the source for them because they were from a few years back) that she had forgotten most of the Japanese she learned during her stay in Japan (also remember that she had attended an English-speaking International school, further reducing the amount of exposure she had to the language), and that she had to relearn the language when she took up her role in "Oni no Sumika". Totally necessary?

edit

Is the first thing you mention have to be how she weighs and how tall? Even for other models, they do not have that until farther down in the article! --WongFeiHung 21:12, 3 April 2006 (UTC)Reply

Ditto - bloodtype?! 134.36.100.168 15:39, 5 March 2007 (UTC)Reply

Discography?

edit

What happened to Kelly's discography? It was basically complete several months ago. I would like to know why it was removed and replaced with such an incomplete list. I will try and rebuild it, but I do not have the Chinese titles for the albums. Haley 06:11, 11 August 2006 (UTC)Reply

I've expanded the discography & added Chinese titles from Kelly's official site. --Haley 20:05, 11 August 2006 (UTC)Reply

Date of Birth

edit

It was a fuss in HK about her date of birth in Aug 2006. Though she said she never claimed to be born in 1973, people actually uploaded her recorded interview and refute her saying. Anyway, it was reported that she admitted being born in 1972, NOT 1973. I got no official source for that but interested may reference the following links: http://hk.knowledge.yahoo.com/question/?qid=7006110603080 and http://www.singtaonet.com:82/star/t20060812_299163.htmlTomlee2060 09:14, 20 November 2006 (UTC)Reply

Exactly! I was shot down in the main page when I added that there was some disagreement about her year of birth. But ah well, I'm not a fan of her anymore now, though I just watched Lost and Found recently. Sehsuan

I'm still a fan of hers, but I don't like lip synch in concerts (the last one on DVD), and misleading about her age doesn't seem necessary... NSilter

Cantonese name transcription should be 'can'

edit

For the person that changed the Cantonese transcription back to 'chan', this is wrong. The initial 'ch' does not exist in Jyutping. Please see Jyutping#Initials or look up the character in any Cantonese dictionary that has Jyutping transcription. It should therefor be 'can', being /tsʰɐn/ in IPA. SuperMidget (talk) 20:59, 11 February 2008 (UTC)Reply

In mandarin, it would be "chen". The cantonese spelling, it would be "chan". If you think this is incorrect check other web sites.24.42.75.70 (talk) 19:34, 12 July 2008 (UTC) watch the Super Trio show it is hilarious. Kelly participated in that show two times and it was LOL.Reply

Kelly isn't a songwritter

edit

I am a fans of Kelly from Hong Kong. I know that Kelly hasn't written any songs in the past. --Sap00acm (talk) 16:46, 1 July 2008 (UTC)Reply

A matter of logic

edit

Quote: "Has an elder sister and a younger brother, singer Victor Chen Si Hon."

Or specify both names, or specify none. It's impossible for the singer Victor Chen Si Hon to be both her elder sister and, in the same time, her younger brother.

Another issue... I just heard about this singer and I wanted to know her greatest hits, to listen them and make my impression about her. I found nothing, just an enumeration of her albums.

I think that, generally speaking, a list of the greatest hits should be a mandatory part of any article about singers. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Srelu (talkcontribs) 13:00, 24 June 2010 (UTC)Reply

Holy unsourced batman

edit

I just noticed that there was a big dump of text without any references given [1] What exactly is "Best dressed 31st Awards" held by the Japanese government? I am having trouble finding it on the Internet. --Makkachin (talk) 09:38, 11 July 2013 (UTC)Reply

DOB check

edit
  • Asia One 1972 or 1973 (age 51–52)
  • China Daily 1972 or 1973 (age 51–52)
  • IMDB (not as reliable) 13 September 1973
  • Allmusic (not as reliable) 13 September 1972
Seems to be a toss-up between 1972 and 1973. But definitely not 1978 as some IPs would have it. Dl2000 (talk) 19:26, 28 February 2015 (UTC)Reply

Chen Huilin

Chen Huilin redirects here, but the word "Huilin" does not appear in the article. It seems like either it should be explained or the redirect deleted? -- Beland (talk) 19:37, 11 January 2024 (UTC)Reply
