Indains vs. Africans
Seriously... How are Indians in an African colony? Please provide references for this.
- seriously: they came to build railways: "Some 32,000 workers were imported from British India to do the manual labour. Many stayed, as did most of the Indian traders and small businessmen who saw opportunity in the opening up of the interior of Kenya." One historian writes: "Kenya's railway, without which there could be no settlement, was designed by Indian engineers and built by Indian labor. The Indian rupee was Kenya's currency until 1921. Indian law held sway in the courts." he says there were 25,000 Indians in kenya in 1921 and 180,000 in 1963. source for statements Most of them left after 1963. - Thank you for providing citations. My apologies. I have restored your version. Ramaksoud2000 (talk) 05

Kenya Colony → Colony of Kenya – Seems more likely to be "Colony of Kenya" per other Wikipedia articles similarly named. Also, as it currently stands, the article begins "The Colony and Protectorate of Kenya was part...". "Colony and Protectorate of Kenya" is probably too long a title, so I suggest "Colony of Kenya". 213.246.91.158 (talk) 07:08, 16 November 2012 (UTC)
PS I've also just seen that the flag_type in the article's infobox is "Flag of Colony of Kenya". (Should that be "Flag of the Colony of Kenya"?) 213.246.91.158 (talk) 07:12, 16 November 2012 (UTC)
- Oppose. Although the formal name was indeed the "Colony of...", Kenya was invariably known colloquially as "Kenya Colony". "Colony" wasn't used at all in the day-to-day names of most British colonies, but Kenya was a notable exception, so it makes sense to use the common name to disambiguate from the modern country instead of using the full formal name. -- Necrothesp (talk) 16:58, 22 November 2012 (UTC)
- In that case, I've just amended the start of the article and its infobox to include both names. Perhaps a "citation needed" is also needed? 213.246.91.158 (talk) 06:49, 23 November 2012 (UTC)

British atrocities
Should we have a section in here to talk about the terrible atrocities that the British committed against the Kenyan people? There's some pretty good documentation of the horrors that were committed there, and I think they warrant inclusion in this article. I Feel Tired (talk) 03:27, 5 September 2013 (UTC)
