A new name given 50 years ago?

"Parts of this article (those related to The islands were renamed back in 1969-1970s and nothing about that rename is mentioned here) need to be updated. Please help update this article to reflect recent events or newly available information. (June 2024)"

?? If indeed a new name was given about 50 years ago, why not just give that name then and there?

That said, Khuriya Muriya Island will remain the title of this page since Wikipedia's rule is that the most commonly-used name in English is the name to be used on the English-language Wikipedia. Lubiesque (talk) 13:38, 19 August 2024 (UTC)Reply
