IMPORTANCE
editAccording to the ancient decentralized administration system followed in Thiruvananthapuram, Thiruvananthapuram was divided into 8 domains(Desham). Kodumon was one of the eight domains in Thiruvananthapuram and the Deshavaazhi was given with the title of Kodumon Pillai. This system was followed upto 1700 AD. Also in Travancore State Manual 2nd Volume by T.K.Velu, it is stated that Marthanda Varma had exterminated the rulers of Kodumon and Kazhakkootam. Vekramaditya (talk) 12:04, 20 September 2010 (UTC)
What is mentioned here is actually "Kudamon" or to be precise "Kudaman". Kudamon Pillai is considered one of the "Ettu Veettil Pillamar" (Pillais of Eight Houses). This has no concern with the place, "Kodumon". Som Karnavar (talk) 19:25, 23 June 2014 (UTC)
