Sloppy editing

Here is an example of why readers don't trust Wikipedia.

Its population growth rate over the decade 2001-2011 was 9.96%.[1]

Piping population growth rate to Family planning in India is careless at best. The phrase doesn't even appear in the target article. The editor couldn't be bothered to look up the definition before he or she copied the selfsame sentence onto score of pages. A look at the reference and you'll see no discussion of the growth rate, only the growth. Precision in speech does make a difference, unless the goal is election to public office. Other editors of similar pages use the population growth rate properly and cite the correct figures. Rhadow (talk) 17:37, 28 December 2018 (UTC)Reply
